Part-Time Medical Biller

**Position Summary**
We are seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Medical Biller to support our billing department during an EMR transition. The ideal candidate will assist with insurance follow-up, payment posting, account reconciliation, and resolving outstanding claims to help ensure the accuracy and continuity of our revenue cycle processes.

Responsibilities

* Follow up with insurance companies regarding unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims.
* Research and resolve claim rejections and billing discrepancies.
* Post insurance payments, patient payments, adjustments, and refunds accurately.
* Reconcile patient accounts and identify outstanding balances.
* Review and work accounts receivable aging reports.
* Verify payment accuracy and contracted reimbursement rates.
* Assist with balancing accounts between legacy and new EMR systems.
* Maintain accurate billing documentation and notes.
* Communicate billing issues and trends to management.
* Support special projects related to billing operations and EMR implementation.
Qualifications

* Previous medical billing experience required.
* Knowledge of insurance claims processing, payment posting, and accounts receivable management.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
* Experience with EMR systems and billing software preferred.
* Therapy billing experience (Speech, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy) preferred.
