Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including affidavits, court forms, briefs, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research and summarise findings for supervising solicitors.
- Manage case files, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with court deadlines.
- Liaise with clients, courts, counsel, and external stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Assist with discovery, evidence collation, and preparation of briefs to counsel.
- Coordinate appointments, mediations, and court dates.
- Support lawyers during hearings, mediations, and client meetings.
- Perform general administrative duties to support smooth office operations.
Skills required
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and prioritise effectively.
- Sound understanding of legal terminology and court processes.
- Proficiency with legal practice management software (e.g., LEAP, Smokeball, Actionstep).
- Professionalism, discretion, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Problem?solving mindset and willingness to take initiative.
