JOB OVERVIEW

Time for Tutoring is a Sydney-based tutoring agency that connects Muslim families with qualified tutors. Our brand is built around and trusted by the Muslim community. The vast majority of our customers are Muslim families, and cultural understanding is at the heart of how we operate.
We are looking for someone to handle inbound enquiries, onboard new customers, and maintain ongoing relationships with families over the phone as we scale. We are a business that works 7 days a week and customer outreach is also completed on weekends.

What you'll be doing:

Speaking with warm leads who have already expressed interest in our service and guiding them through to becoming a customer
Calling parents first to gather key information so our team can match them with the right tutor
Explaining our service and pricing clearly and confidently
Handling objections with skill and composure. Parents will push back on price, ask hard questions, and need convincing. Your ability to handle this naturally and without being pushy is one of the most important parts of this role
Being the main point of contact for families after onboarding, maintaining the relationship, checking in, and resolving any concerns that come up
Following up with leads who have not yet committed
Light admin to keep things organised

Who we're looking for:

Excellent spoken English. This is a phone-heavy role with Australian customers and how you come across on a call is everything
A genuine understanding of Islamic culture, Muslim family life, and Muslim values. You do not just know about it, you get it
Warm, confident, and natural on the phone
Proven ability to handle objections and close without being pushy
Someone who builds trust easily and can maintain long term relationships with families
Previous sales, customer service, or phone-based experience required
A requirement of the role is to have a flexible availability as call volume varies day to day. A responsive and reachable individual is needed for this role. The nature of the role involves frequent communications with the team at various times within reason.

This role is not the right fit if you are not familiar with Muslim culture and the expectations of Muslim families.
To apply you must include:

A 60-second voice recording where you introduce yourself and then respond to this scenario: "A parent calls and asks if we can guarantee results. What do you say?"
A brief description of any phone-based or sales experience you have
Answer this question: How familiar are you with Islamic culture and Muslim communities, and where does that familiarity come from?

Applications without a voice recording will not be considered. Please do not read an ai scripted response. We appreciate genuine human responses.

This is a part-time role with flexible hours. Pay is a base rate of $5 to $10 AUD per hour plus commission per successful onboarding. The more you convert, the more you earn. There is real room to grow with the business as we scale.
If you have read this job listing in full, write the word SYDNEY at the very top of your application.
