The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled, part-time SEO Specialist to elevate the technical SEO maturity of our website ( ---------- ). Your objective is to build enduring organic visibility across traditional search engines while simultaneously optimizing our content for the rapidly evolving landscape of Generative AI search engines (often referred to as Generative Engine Optimization or GEO).

You will work collaboratively with our team in an agile, iterative sprint model where we agree on tasks, you execute, and we review together.

Key Responsibilities
Traditional & Technical SEO: Implement robust strategies to ensure our website ranks highly for high-intent mortgage queries in the competitive Sydney market.

AI Searchability (GEO): Structure online content so it is surfaced, cited, and recommended by AI-driven search engines and conversational LLMs.

Structured Data Implementation: Implement and audit comprehensive schema markup (such as FAQs, Organization, and Service schemas) to give AI clear context, as LLMs rely heavily on structured data to accurately interpret content.

Content Formatting for Extraction: Format our educational articles and guides using clear heading hierarchies, bulleted lists, and direct answers, which are highly preferred by AI models for extraction and citation.

Crawler Management: Audit our robots.txt files and server configurations to ensure that both traditional and AI crawlers can successfully access and read our content without being inadvertently blocked.

Recency & Maintenance: Implement a schedule to regularly review and update existing content, leveraging the strong recency bias that AI systems use to select current, trustworthy sources.

About You
Demonstrated, verifiable experience improving searchability, organic traffic, and lead generation for service-based or finance businesses.

Deep understanding of modern SEO best practices and emerging GEO techniques required to capture AI search visibility.

Technical proficiency with Google Search Console, Google Analytics (GA4), schema markup deployment, and website architecture.

Reliable, proactive, honest, and comfortable working within a strictly scoped, part-time hour cap.
