Role Summary

As the Video Editing Team Lead at Swan Studio, you will be responsible for leading and developing our Filipino video editing team. This is not a hands on editing role or a bottleneck review position. Instead, you will own the standards, systems, feedback loops, and performance tracking that ensure each editor consistently delivers work to the level we expect.



You will work closely with our Sydney based founders, Creative Director, and Client Servicing Lead to translate creative direction and feedback into clear expectations, skill development, and continuous improvement across the editing team.



Key Responsibilities



Team Leadership and Performance

Lead and manage the Filipino video editing team across multiple client accounts
Set clear expectations for quality, speed, and consistency
Track individual editor performance and output over time
Identify strengths, risks, and recurring quality issues
Act as the point of accountability for the overall performance of the editing team


Quality Standards and Skill Development

Own and maintain clear quality benchmarks, examples, and best practice standards
Receive and synthesise feedback from the Sydney team and clients
Translate feedback into clear actions and development priorities for editors
Identify individual skill gaps and support improvement through coaching and training
Intervene selectively where quality issues persist rather than reviewing every deliverable
Workflow and Operational Management

Oversee workload distribution and capacity planning
Monitor turnaround times and flag resourcing risks early
Improve editing workflows, documentation, and processes
Partner with leadership on team scaling and resourcing plans
Champion tools, templates, and systems that improve efficiency and consistency
Collaboration and Communication

Work closely with the Sydney team including founders, Creative Director, and Client Servicing Lead
Ensure briefs, priorities, and feedback are clearly communicated to the Filipino team
Maintain alignment between creative direction and execution
Proactively raise risks, blockers, or quality concerns
Onboarding, Recruitment, and Culture

Own onboarding for new video editors including tools, workflows, and standards
Support recruitment of new editors as the team grows
Run regular performance reviews and check ins
Build a positive, accountable, and high performing team culture
Bring the team together to celebrate milestones and achievements


Requirements

Four or more years of experience in video editing or post production
Experience leading or managing video editors or creative teams
Strong understanding of paid social video for Meta and TikTok
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro with working knowledge of After Effects
Strong ability to assess quality and performance without micromanaging execution
Excellent communication, coaching, and feedback skills
Experience working with offshore or remote teams


Bonus points

Experience leading Filipino based creative teams
Background in direct response or performance driven creative
Familiarity with AI assisted editing tools and automation workflows
