Position Summary
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for recording financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, assisting with payroll, and supporting overall financial operations. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and experienced with bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks Online.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
Create and send invoices to customers.
Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts.
Record customer payments and maintain accurate records.
Prepare accounts receivable aging reports.
Accounts Payable
Enter supplier invoices and expenses.
Verify and process payments to vendors and subcontractors.
Maintain organized records of bills, receipts, and purchase orders.
Track due dates and ensure timely payments.
Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation
Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain accurate cash flow records.
Payroll Support
Assist with payroll processing and employee records.
Track employee hours and contractor payments.
Ensure payroll records are accurate and compliant.
Financial Reporting
Prepare monthly profit and loss statements.
Generate balance sheets and cash flow reports.
Maintain job costing records for construction projects.
Assist with budgeting and financial planning.
Administrative Duties
Maintain digital filing systems and financial records.
Assist with GST filings and year-end preparation.
Coordinate with accountants and external professionals.
Support management with financial analysis and reporting.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years bookkeeping experience.
Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred.
Strong knowledge of Canadian bookkeeping practices.
Understanding of construction job costing is an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle confidential financial information.
