Need tutor (or tutors) to work with two USA based kids. One in middle school (13 years old) and one in high school (16 years old.) Both students are preparing for entrance exams. (SAT and SSAT.) If tutoring is going well and this is a great match we will likley add more hours to support academic success.
Time: 5 to 12 hours per week per student (10–25 hours total if tutoring both)
NOTE: We are very price sensitive on hourly rate because we want to do so many hours! This is much cheerleader as tutor since we are also paying for software that does much of the "tutoring"
The kids are are self-directed learners, and your primary role will be to facilitate their success using our provided curriculum test prep software.
Your daily responsibilities include:
Teaching: Work with the student as they work through problems on the test prep software. If they get stuck, you will step in to explain concepts, guide them toward the solution, and clarify difficult topics.
Accountability & Coaching: Ensure the student is actually engaging with the material. You will be a mentor who provides encouragement, keeps them focused, and ensures the daily workload is completed.
Providing Feedback: Help maintain a positive, productive environment where the student feels supported but challenged.

Who You Are: We need someone who balances a "cheerleader" attitude with the discipline to keep the student focused. You must be:
Smart & Proficient: Comfortable with US middle/high school curricula, including SAT/SSAT prep.
Empathetic & Supportive: Able to build rapport with students and keep them motivated during tough lessons.
Reliable: Punctual for all scheduled Zoom sessions. (This is critical!)
Requirements
Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English.
Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet space for Zoom calls.
Experience or comfort with US-based academic standards.
