We are seeking a part-time (20+ hours/week), dependable and detail-oriented Accountant / Tax Return Preparer. U.S. Time zone Eastern Standard Time zone.
This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who has hands-on experience preparing individual and business tax returns, and managing deadlines in busy CPA Firm.
This is NOT an entry-level role; however, we are also not seeking a highly senior CPA partner-level candidate. Looking for someone with practical real-world tax preparation experience who is comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a team.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare individual & business tax returns accurately and efficiently (1120, 1120-S, 1065, 1040’s) using ProSeries (or familiarity with ProSeries or other Tax Preparation software/platforms)
• Review financial records and supporting documentation
• Communicate with clients regarding missing information and tax questions via
• Assist with bookkeeping and accounting support as needed
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Meet deadlines during busy periods
Qualifications:
• 3–7 years of accounting and/or tax preparation experience
• Experience preparing personal and business tax returns
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and common tax software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Professional communication skills
• CPA or EA is a plus, but not required
Preferred:
• Experience working in a small accounting firm or tax office
• Comfortable working with small business clients
• Ability to manage multiple projects
Compensation:
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Note: Compensation will be discussed during interview process.
