AutoCAD Template & Documentation Specialist (Contract Project)

I am an Australian interior designer looking for an experienced AutoCAD specialist to refine and rebuild my existing documentation template into a professional, efficient, and scalable system.

I already have a basic template in place. The goal is to improve and standardise the system rather than start from scratch. A good understanding of Joinery and residential plans and elevations will ensure the outcome is efficient.

This is initially a one-time project. However, for the right candidate, there may be opportunities for ongoing drafting and documentation work on residential interior design and custom joinery projects.

Scope of Work

• Refine and rebuild AutoCAD template (.DWT)
• Create and organise layer standards
• Set up annotative text, dimensions, and multileader styles
• Establish lineweight and plotting standards
• Configure layouts, viewports, and sheet setups
• Create or improve plot styles (CTB/STB)
• Design an updated title block and sheet layout system
• Set up standard notes, legends, and schedules
• Review and improve overall documentation workflow

Block Management

A key part of this project is creating a clean and organised block library.

I have accumulated blocks from various sources over many years, and I need someone who understands how to clean, rebuild, and standardise blocks so they work correctly within a controlled layer system. Experience managing nested blocks, layer standards, and imported block content is essential.

Requirements

• Advanced AutoCAD expertise
• Strong understanding of CAD standards and documentation systems
• Experience creating professional AutoCAD templates
• Excellent knowledge of annotative scaling
• Strong understanding of blocks, dynamic blocks, and layer management
• Experience with plotting, viewports, layouts, and title blocks
• Strong attention to detail and documentation presentation
Have a sharp graphic sense to design attractive title blocks and cover pages
