JOB OVERVIEW

Video Editor - Long-Form History & Ancient Mystery Channel
We run a faceless YouTube channel focused on ancient structures, archaeology, and engineering mysteries — underground cities, megalithic architecture, lost construction techniques, and the genuine "how was this even built?" questions that surround them.
The channel has grown to roughly 9,000+ subscribers with several videos over 100k–200k views and a breakout past 750k, and we're scaling our output of long-form (25–35 minute) videos. But initially we would like to Applicants to do shorter 11-20min videos to gauge performance and affordability.

We're looking for a reliable editor to take a finished script and voiceover and turn it into a polished, retention-focused video.
The style we want:

Clean, grounded, and credibility-first. Our audience skews older (45–65+) and values clarity, scale, and atmosphere over flashy effects.

Real footage only - we work primarily with licensed stock (Adobe Stock) which access can be provided, aerial shots, and archival/Creative Commons imagery. We deliberately avoid AI-generated visuals unless the story of methods used needs to be carried through ai generation...
(Diagrams, illustrations and even ancient style looking art work is welcome but nothing that misleads or photo-realistic ai.)

Strong sense of pacing for long-form: holding attention across 11-20minutes and eventually 30 minutes through smooth footage changes, well-timed cuts at narrative beats, and motion on stills (tasteful Ken Burns push-ins, light parallax, atmospheric overlays).

Subtle, professional sound design and music that builds mystery without becoming dramatic or cheesy.
Clean on-screen text and the occasional simple explanatory graphic (cross-sections, maps) when the script calls for it.
Narration text is not necessary.

What we are NOT looking for:

Fast, hyper-cut "MrBeast"-style editing.
AI-generated photo realistic content but diagrams and illustrations to carry script are welcome.
Heavy zooms, ---------- effects, constant sound effects, or over-polished clickbait energy.

The role:

Edit long-form videos from a supplied script + voiceover, sourcing and syncing footage to match the narration. (We can provide adobe stock unlimited access and you are welcome to use other sources as you see fit.)

Maintain consistency across videos (we'll share examples and a style reference).

Hit agreed deadlines and take feedback through revision rounds.
