Perks&Rec is a New York-based travel advisory that helps clients book hotels, coordinate trips, and navigate logistics without the chaos. Our work ranges from individual hotel bookings to complex group travel and event coordination. We operate with strong systems, clear communication, and high standards.
Founded by a Filipino American, LGBTQ travel advisor, Perks&Rec is built as an intentionally inclusive and identity-aware practice. We welcome all travelers and take seriously what it means to create thoughtful, affirming experiences.
We are in a growth phase and building the operational backbone of the business. This role starts part-time, but it is designed to expand significantly for the right person.

**ROLE OVERVIEW**
This role is about bringing Perks&Rec to life visually. The primary focus is designing travel guides and branded content that are as useful as they are visually captivating, such as destination carousels, itinerary graphics, story templates, and other shareable assets across Instagram and TikTok.
The schedule is flexible, so what matters is that deadlines are met and content lands when it's supposed to. In this role, you’ll regularly be provided with deliverables, and you are expected to manage your own time, self-direct, and deliver finished work without reminders.
This is a strong fit for someone with a sharp design eye, a genuine love of travel, and the instincts to know what performs on social.
**WHAT YOU'LL DO**
Design and Content
- Design social media travel guides, destination carousels, and shareable content using Canva
- Create on-brand graphics, story templates, and reusable assets across Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms
Copy and Voice
- Write captions, hooks, and short-form copy that reflects the Perks&Rec voice
- Leverage AI tools to research, draft, and accelerate content production
Planning and Organization
- Collaborate on a content calendar and self-manage delivery on schedule
- Maintain organized, accessible files and assets for ongoing use
**GROWTH PATH**
This role is built to evolve, as we expect this role to grow from contract to part-time over time. As you demonstrate reliability and strong creative output, you can expect:
- More ownership over content strategy and planning
- Expanded scope across video, animation, and new platforms
- Involvement in campaign ideation and brand development
- Expanded hours and compensation as the content operation grows

**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
- Proficiency in Canva with a strong, clean design sense
- Comfort with Google Docs and Notion for collaboration and organization
- Working knowledge of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc.)
- A genuine passion for travel
- An eye for what performs on Instagram and TikTok
- Strong time management, reliable, self-directed, and doesn't need reminders to hit a deadline
- Strong written English and professional communication skills are essential
- Understanding of and interest in travel
Bonus points for experience in short-form video editing, motion graphics, travel content creation, social account management, scheduling tools, or basic photography and videography.
**HOW TO APPLY**

Travel-related work is a plus, but not required. A link to a portfolio, Google Drive folder, or social profile works great, just include a brief note on your role in each piece.
