Video Editor for Triathlon Training App — Cinematic Brand + Viral Short-Form (Reels/TikTok)

About us
We're Rift, an AI-powered training app for serious age-group triathletes. We need a video editor who can move fluidly between two worlds: cinematic hero content (think Nike, Strava, On Running brand films — slow builds, emotional pacing, beautiful color) and viral short-form (TikTok/Reels hooks in the first 1.5 seconds, fast cuts, captions, trending audio awareness).
Most editors do one or the other. We need someone who does both.
What you'll work on

15–60 second Reels and TikToks featuring athlete training footage, app screen recordings, and UGC-style talking heads
Longer cinematic pieces (60s–3min) for YouTube, web, and ad platforms — race day, training montages, athlete stories
Ad creative iterations for Meta/TikTok paid campaigns (multiple hooks, multiple aspect ratios per concept)
Occasional motion graphics work for app UI overlays and data viz callouts (heart rate, pace, power)

You're a strong fit if you have

A portfolio with both cinematic brand work and short-form viral content — please link 2 examples of each
Mastery of Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve (After Effects a strong plus)
A clear eye for color grading — most reels editors don't grade, we care about this
Sound design instincts (music selection, beat-matched cuts, ducked VO)
Familiarity with endurance sports, fitness, or athletic content (huge plus, not required)
Native or near-native English for caption writing

Bonus points

You've edited content that has actually gone viral (1M+ views) — link it
You understand the difference between TikTok pacing and Reels pacing
You can work with raw GoPro, drone, and iPhone footage and make it all look unified
Experience with AI-generated b-roll (Higgsfield, Runway, Sora) for ad creative

Logistics

Start: ASAP
Volume: ~4–8 short-form pieces per week + 1–2 longer pieces per month
Format: Ongoing contractor, weekly delivery cadence
Communication: Async via whatsapp + Frame.io for review

Compensation
