About This Opportunity
We’re seeking a reliable and creative Author Assistant to help support an independently published author brand. This is a flexible long-term part-time role best suited for someone who enjoys the publishing world, online marketing, reader engagement, and behind-the-scenes launch support.
The position requires approximately 1–2 hours per day and is ideal for someone looking for consistent supplemental work alongside other projects or clients.
You’ll assist with tasks related to newsletter marketing, promotional coordination, social media support, ARC campaigns, and audience engagement while helping grow a strong and connected reader community.
Responsibilities may include preparing newsletters, organizing launch promotions, coordinating ARC readers, supporting social media engagement, and assisting with general marketing and administrative tasks related to book releases.

Author Assistant Responsibilities

Newsletter &
• Create and schedule 5–6 newsletters per week using MailerLite
• Design and update newsletter templates
• Set up
Promotional & Book Swap Coordination
Manage promotional opportunities and newsletter swaps across platforms including:
• BookFunnel
• StoryOrigin
• BookSprout
• BookClicker
• Booksweeps
• Newsletter feature swaps and cross-promotions
• Additional reader and author promotion platforms as needed
Social Media Support
• Create approximately 5 social media posts per week
• Support content across TikTok,
• Engage with readers through comments and community interaction
• Assist with audience growth and relationship-building
Graphic & Content Support
Repurpose existing content into promotional materials including:
• Newsletter graphics and banners
• ARC promotional graphics
• Social media visuals
• Book promotion graphics
ARC Team Management
Assist with coordinating Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) campaigns from start to finish, including:
• ARC application forms and setup
• Recruiting ARC readers
• Organizing ARC delivery
• Sending reminder and follow-up
• Encouraging reviews and reader participation
Administrative & Launch Support
• Maintain tracking sheets and promotional organization systems
• Conduct outreach to bloggers, reviewers, and promotional accounts
• Assist with book launch planning and promotional scheduling
• Provide additional administrative support as needed
