JOB OVERVIEW

Video Editor — Viral Short-Form Series (3x/week)
Company: Tally (habit accountability app) Type: Freelance / contract, ongoing Volume: 3 videos per week Format: Vertical short-form (TikTok / Reels / Shorts), 45–75 seconds

About the project
We're launching a recurring viral short-form series for Tally — an app where people put real money on the line to break their bad habits. Miss your goal, lose your stake.
The series is a chaotic-comedy format: a wheel picks a follower, we DM their friends to expose their worst habit, we ambush them in public, and a raccoon mascot tackles them and steals 50 cents. It ends with a transformation shot showing the habit broken 14 days later.
Think MrBeast-style stunt structure meets AirrackTV pacing meets unhinged mascot energy. The format is built to be remixed weekly with different followers and different bad habits, so we need an editor who can lock in a repeatable visual system and crank out episodes fast.

The trial edit
Before we lock in the ongoing contract, we want a paid trial edit of Episode 1.
Reference video (match this format, pacing, energy, and editing style exactly): [ ---------- /p/DVsTZMkjXWh/?hl=en]

Script: Attached below. Follow it beat-for-beat.

Important — in the video provided, there were very few “in real life” clips used, most of the video was animations. Same here, there will only be the following “in real life”clips used from this point forward:
Conversation with friend
Going to roommate’s place of work
Raccoon beating him/her up and doing a signature dance to a signature song

THESE 4 CLIPS ARE NOT PROVIDED FOR THE TRIAL EDIT.

Instead, use a black background and overlay the dialogue in place for now. We are merely testing your animation and editing ability to be on par with the example provided.

Everything else is your job to build with animation, captions, and stock/filler footage:
Wheel spin animation landing on the username
Instagram profile screenshot reveal
DM screenshots stacking on screen (blurred names)
The "mold on a plate" photo (use a stock cringe photo or create a graphic)
All on-screen captions and text
The Ed Sheeran "Bad Habits" beat drop sync
End card with CTA

YOU MAY SPEED UP VOICE/ADD SOUND EFFECTS WHERE YOU SEE FIT, JUST MATCH THE FORMAT OF THE EXAMPLE!

Let the captions and animations carry the storytelling. The reference video does this constantly — that's the whole technique.

Deliverables for the trial:
1 finished vertical video (9:16, 1080x1920, mp4)
Captions burned in, styled consistently (white, eb garamond font, burgundy colored for emphasis words) // differentiate between different people talking
Music synced with beat drop on the Ed Sheeran ---------- nt
Project file (Premiere/CapCut/AE — whichever you use) for revisions

Turnaround: 24 hours
Pay for trial: $7

Ongoing role
If the trial is strong, you're hired for 3 videos per week in the same format. Each video uses the same skeleton:
Wheel spin ? follower picked
DM evidence stacking
IRL ambush at the victim's workplace/location (3–4 IRL clips per ep)
"Get him" ? raccoon tackle
50-cent steal + signature dance to "Bad Habits"
14-day transformation reveal
End card

The recurring beats mean once you build the templates (wheel, DM overlay, Tally notification, end card), each subsequent video should get faster to produce. We'll provide the script, the IRL footage, and any specific assets — you handle everything else.

What we're looking for
An editor who can match reference style precisely, lands captions and SFX with comedic timing, builds clean motion graphics (wheel spin, DM overlays, notification popups), syncs to music beats instinctively, and turns around fast without sacrificing polish. Short-form viral experience (MrBeast, Airrack, AlanChikinChow, prank/stunt creators) is a huge plus.

How to apply
Send:
2–3 examples of short-form work you've edited (links)
Software you edit in
Title + begin your message with “TALLY EDITOR” – this is to ensure you’ve read the entire description properly

I put every single one of my followers on this giant wheel, and whoever it picks is getting their worst habit exposed by a raccoon.
And the winner ---------- lands. Cayden's Instagram profile screenshot pops up.]
I went through Cayden's entire Instagram and DM'd every single one of his tagged friends asking what his worst habit is.
[DMs stack on screen, blurred names]
Turns out Cayden has a roommate named Marcus. And according to Marcus, Cayden hasn't washed a single dish since spring break. Marcus sent us a photo.
There's mold growing on a plate from March.
[Cringe photo. Zoom in. Zoom in more.]
So I DM'd Marcus asking what time Cayden gets off his summer internship. Then I showed up outside Goldman Sachs at 6:47 PM.
[Cut to camera posted outside the building. People in suits walking out. Cayden spots the camera.]
"Hi, uh... can I help you?"
"Are you Cayden?"
"...yeah?"
"You live with Marcus, right?"
"How do you know Marcus —"
"Marcus told us you haven't washed a dish since spring break."
"He WHAT —"
"Cayden. Your roommate can't eat. He's losing weight. He's been eating Chipotle every single night because there are no clean bowls in your apartment. Do you really want that for Marcus?"
"I— I didn't—"
[Cayden shakes his head, mutters something, walks away from the camera.]
[Beat. Camera slowly pans down and to the left. The raccoon is sitting there. Staring. Twitching.]
"...Get him."
[Raccoon nods. Bolts off-frame.]
[Cut to Cayden walking down the sidewalk. The raccoon tackles him from behind in a full sprint.]
[Raccoon reaches into Cayden's pocket. Pulls out two quarters. Holds them up to camera.]
[Phone buzzes in Cayden's hand. Tally notification fills the screen: "Your stake is LIVE. $50 on the line."]
[BEAT DROP — "Bad Habits" by Ed Sheeran]
[Raccoon signature dance. Tail spin. Little fist pump. Bites the quarters.]
[Cut to image. 14 days later. Same apartment. Sparkling clean kitchen. Marcus eating actual food in the background, crying tears of joy.]
ON-VIDEO CAPTION: "don't be a cayden. monetize your friends (ethically) ????"
