JOB OVERVIEW

Orchid Pediatrics / With Dr. Joy is hiring an Accessible Podcast & Video Repurposing Assistant for a stable, long-term part-time contractor role supporting a weekly podcast and educational short-form content.

We are looking for someone thoughtful, reliable, detail-oriented, and strong at turning raw audio/video into clear, accessible, ready-for-review content.

This role supports content related to neurodivergence, PDA, autism, ADHD, parenting, disability-affirming care, developmental health, and pediatric/integrative healthcare.

This is not a generic social media manager role, content strategy role, funnel role, or clinical role.

You will help turn raw podcast episodes, videos, voice notes, and transcripts into polished content assets by:

* editing weekly podcast episodes
* cleaning up audio/video for clarity
* preparing transcripts and show notes
* pulling short clips from longer recordings
* creating reels/shorts from podcast or video content
* adding accurate captions
* drafting captions based on Dr. Joy’s words
* creating simple quote graphics, audiograms, or carousel drafts
* preparing alt text and accessibility notes
* organizing files, folders, and content assets
* flagging anything that may need clinical, privacy, accessibility, or tone review

This role is for someone who enjoys production, repurposing, organization, and thoughtful editing. The content strategy, offer mapping, funnel planning, clinical direction, and final approval will be handled separately.

You may be a strong fit if you have:

* podcast editing, video editing, or content repurposing experience
* experience creating reels, shorts, captions, transcripts, or audiograms
* strong written English
* excellent attention to detail
* reliable follow-through without constant reminders
* good judgment about what to edit, what to preserve, and what to flag
* comfort working with sensitive topics related to children, families, healthcare, disability, and neurodivergence
* an accessibility-aware approach to content creation
* the ability to preserve a creator’s voice instead of making content sound generic
* calm, clear communication
* comfort receiving feedback and making revisions

Nice to have:

* experience with Descript, Riverside, CapCut, Canva, Audacity, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar tools
* experience supporting a podcast, YouTube channel, clinician, educator, therapist, coach, or healthcare-adjacent business
* experience with neurodiversity-affirming, disability-aware, trauma-informed, parenting, education, or healthcare-related content
* experience creating accessible captions, transcripts, alt text, or readable graphics
* familiarity with PDA, autism, ADHD, low-demand communication, or disability-affirming language
* experience organizing content libraries in Google Drive, Dropbox, Notion, Trello, Asana, or ClickUp
* basic understanding of social media scheduling tools

This role is not a fit if you:

* want to own content strategy or d ---------- the marketing direction
* are mainly interested in viral trends or hype-style social media
* prefer flashy edits over clear and accessible content
* rely on generic AI captions without carefully reviewing and editing them
* think accessibility means “just add captions”
* want to give advice in comments or DMs
* are casual with deadlines, file names, or organization
* need step-by-step instructions for every small task
* are uncomfortable with feedback or revisions
* are uncomfortable working with healthcare-adjacent or neurodivergence-related content
* use shame, fear, urgency, or pressure as primary marketing tools

Example weekly tasks may include:

For one weekly podcast episode, you may help create:

* one edited podcast episode
* one cleaned transcript
* one episode description
* one show notes draft
* three short-form video clips/reels
* captions for each clip
* one to two quote graphics, audiograms, or carousel drafts
* alt text for visual assets
* organized files ready for review
* a short note flagging any questions, concerns, or suggested edits

Important boundaries:

Because this content may connect to healthcare, children, families, and clinical education, confidentiality and professional boundaries are essential.

You must not share private information, use identifiable patient details, provide medical advice, or respond to clinical questions independently. Anything that seems clinically sensitive, potentially identifiable, unclear, or outside the provided guidance should be flagged for review.

All content must be reviewed and approved before publishing unless otherwise agreed.

Pay: $8–$14/hour depending on experience, with an expected starting workload of 10–15 hours/week. Monthly retainer available after a paid trial.

Possible starting range:
10–15 hours/week

This may be structured as hourly pay or a monthly retainer after a paid trial period.

To apply

Please start your message with: ACCESS FIRST

Then answer:

1. What experience do you have with podcast editing, video editing, or repurposing long-form content into short-form clips?

2. Have you supported a podcast, YouTube channel, clinician, educator, coach, therapist, or healthcare/wellness-related business before?

3. What tools do you use for audio editing, video editing, captioning, transcript cleanup, graphics, and file organization?

4. What does accessibility mean to you when creating video, podcast, or social media content?

5. How do you d ---------- what makes a good short-form clip from a longer podcast or video?

6. How do you preserve the creator’s voice instead of making captions or clips sound generic?

7. What would you do if a parent commented on a video asking, “Do you think my child has PDA, and what should I do?”

8. Are you available for a stable part-time role of 10–15 hours/week?

9. What is your hourly rate or monthly rate for 10–15 hours/week?

Please also include:

* your resume or brief work history
* 2–3 relevant work samples
* your availability
* your internet speed
* the tools/software you already use

Finalists may be asked to complete a short paid test task.

Paid test task may include:

* editing a short podcast or video sample
* creating one to two short-form clips
* adding captions
* drafting captions for each clip
* creating a brief show notes draft
* creating one simple quote graphic or audiogram
* providing alt text
* organizing files in a shared folder
* sharing a brief note about accessibility choices and anything that should be reviewed before posting

What I’m looking for:

The best fit is someone who is reliable, careful, kind, organized, and able to balance creativity with boundaries.

Strong applications will show:

* careful reading of this post
* clear examples of relevant production work
* thoughtfulness about accessibility
* good judgment around healthcare-adjacent content
* warm, respectful language
* organized communication
* understanding that this is a production role, not a strategy role
* comfort with feedback and revisions
* ability to make content clear without making it sensationalized

Applications that are generic, overly salesy, or focused mostly on “going viral” are unlikely to be the right fit.
