JOB OVERVIEW

About Us:
We're a marketing agency that helps clients grow through content and social media. We're looking for a designer who doesn't just execute - someone who reads a blog post and gets what it's trying to say, then creates visuals that bring it to life.

What You'll Do:
- Create blog header images and in-article graphics based on written content we provide
- Design social media images across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Produce content graphics that match each client's brand and voice
- Turn a piece of written content into visuals that fit the message, not just the words

Who We're Looking For:
This is the important part. We don't want someone who only does exactly what they're told. We want someone who:
- Reads the content and thinks, "What's the best way to show this?" - not just "What did they ask me to make?"
- Brings ideas to the table. If you see a better approach, we want to hear it.
- Thinks about the bigger picture - how a graphic fits the client's brand, the audience, and the goal of the post
- Takes initiative and fills in the creative gaps without needing every detail spelled out

If you're the kind of designer who likes being handed a brief and figuring out something great, you'll do well here. If you prefer step-by-step instructions for everything, this isn't the right fit.

Requirements:
- Strong portfolio showing blog and/or social media design work
- Comfortable with design tools - we're open to whatever you're strongest in (Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, etc.)
- Good eye for layout, color, and typography
- Reliable, communicates well, meets deadlines
- English good enough to understand written content and brand context

Details
- Part-time, [10 hours/week]
- $4-6/hr based on experience
- Long-term role for the right person
- Paid test project as part of hiring (details below)

How to Apply
In your application, do two things:
1. Send your portfolio (or 3-5 sample pieces)
2. Tell me about a time you designed something where you went beyond what was asked — what was the brief, and what did you add or change on your own?
