WordPress Theme Developer

We're on the lookout for a WordPress theme developer to join our team, initially helping to clear off a back log of work. The bulk of projects are WordPress based and typically involve taking a PSD or Sketch design and turning it into a pixel perfect theme.

We have very high standards, so attention to detail is critical. We're looking to take someone on full time, but this will start with a 'tester' project (which you will be paid for completing). If after this project is completed we'll be able to discuss ongoing employment.

You will be expected to use, and have a solid grasp of;

- GIT project management
- SCSS (for developing styles)
- GULP (used to compile SCSS sheets and Javascript sheets)

Ideally, you will be familiar with (although you will be able to pick this up fairly quickly);

- Inuit CSS grid.
- The use of Advanced Custom Fields

Working together

Right, first things first; I’m a really busy guy. I won’t be at my desk, and might not even be reachable through the day, so I need to work with a self motivated individual who can follow instructions given.

I foresee us having a weekly catch-up over Skype. This will happen on a Friday morning (when I’m always at my desk). I’ll be looking for an update of the week, including if any tasks are running over.

I’ll then run you through the tasks that I need completing the week after. I’ll expect you to run your own diary (Google Calendar) keeping this up to date with when you plan to do what.

You’ll be able to drop me a message (we’ll use either Skype of Slack) anytime if you have questions, but ideally, I need to know that you’re happy to get stuff done independently. I’m normally hard to get a hold of Monday through Wednesday.

I’ll require an email at the end of each day, with an update on what’s been completed during the working

Working hours and package

Your working “hours” will be 7 hours per day. These can be worked to fit the hours that you like to work. However, on a Thursday and Friday I would ask that you are available until 6pm (your local time) as this will give me 2 hours of the working day to speak if we need to.

Saturday and Sunday are NOT working days.

The salary will be $2.50 to $4.50 per hour. This will equate to $87.50/147.50 per week.

Holidays – You will be given 5, paid, holidays per year (which can be taken after the first 2 months). Additionally after completing 2 months, an additional $25 per month will be payable to cover health care.

Payments will be made weekly via PayPal (I’ll cover any fees incurred).

To clarify the process.

- Applications to apply (via the above link) by 6pm UK time on the 30th August 2017.
- We'll select two developers to build a theme, using our framework which is to be complete by 6pm UK time on 1st September 2017. YOU WILL BE PAID FOR THIS WORK.
- I'll then interview and offer (assuming all is well) one of the developers a full-time role.
