Remote Video Editor / Content Assistant (YouTube + Social Media)

I’m looking for a creative and detail-oriented remote video editor/content assistant to help build long-form YouTube content and short-form social media content.

This role will begin on a flexible project-by-project or hourly basis, with the potential to grow into a more consistent long-term position depending on performance and workload.

About the Content

The content will include a mix of:

* Construction and remodeling projects
* Behind-the-scenes business ownership
* Entrepreneurship and leadership
* Day-to-day life as a contractor/father/business owner
* Garage/shop/tool content
* Personal growth and real-life experiences
* Social media clips for business marketing

This is NOT overly corporate or scripted content. I am looking for someone who can help create authentic, engaging, well-edited videos with good pacing, storytelling, music, subtitles, transitions, and overall flow.

Responsibilities

* Edit long-form YouTube videos
* Create short-form vertical content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts
* Organize footage and project files
* Add captions/subtitles, music, transitions, sound cleanup, and graphics where appropriate
* Help identify strong ---------- nts or clips from raw footage
* Follow creative direction while also contributing ideas and suggestions
* Maintain a consistent editing style and branding over time

Preferred Skills

* Experience editing YouTube videos and social media content
* Strong English comprehension and communication
* Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar editing software
* Understanding of pacing, storytelling, hooks, and modern editing styles
* Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
* Experience editing construction, trades, entrepreneur, lifestyle, or service business content is a bonus

Workflow

Raw footage will typically be uploaded to a shared cloud folder. I will often send voice notes, video notes, or written direction explaining:

* the context of the footage,
* key ---------- nts from the day,
* themes or ideas I want emphasized,
* and general creative direction.

I’m looking for someone who can take direction well while also bringing their own creativity and ideas to the editing process.
