Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our in-office team. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating a variety of restoration projects including water mitigation, contents, fire/soot, and reconstruction.
This role requires strong familiarity with insurance estimating platforms, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of the restoration process, including negotiating with insurance carriers.
Responsibilities
-Review field documentation, including photos, scope notes, and readings; coordinate revisions where necessary
-Create detailed and accurate estimates using Xactimate and/or Symbility
-Write estimates for water mitigation, contents, fire/soot, and reconstruction projects
-Ensure estimates align with industry pricing standards and insurance requirements
-Collaborate with project managers and field staff to clarify job scope and services rendered
-Communicate with customers, insurance adjusters, and third-party reviewers to negotiate and justify estimates as needed
-Perform carrier negotiation and supplement handling to ensure fair and complete claim approvals
-Update and maintain project documentation in job management software
-Ensure estimates are submitted within required timelines
-Assist with administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications
-1–3 years of experience in the restoration or construction industry
-Experience with in-office estimating workflows
-Proficiency in Xactimate (required)
-Experience with Symbility (preferred)
-Experience writing estimates across mitigation, contents, and reconstruction scopes
-Experience working with TPAs (Third Party Administrators) preferred
-Experience with carrier negotiation and supplements preferred
-Understanding of IICRC standards and mitigation processes
-Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
-Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
