JOB OVERVIEW

The Psychology Alley is a Sydney-based psychology practice focused on evidence-based therapy, personality disorders, Asian mental health, trauma, attachment, and family law-related work. We are looking for a remote Social Media & Content Assistant to support our online presence across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

This is a long-term contractor role suitable for someone organised, creative, psychologically minded, and interested in mental health communications and branding.

About the Role
The primary goals of this role are to:
• Increase traffic and leads to the practice website
• Support client enquiries and bookings
• Provide accessible psychoeducation and mental health resources
• Strengthen the practice’s professional online presence
• Position the practice as a thoughtful, high-quality place to work for clinicians and referrers

You will assist with:
• Repurposing existing blogs into social media content
• Creating 1-2 posts per week across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
• Adapting captions and formatting for each platform
• Conducting light market and competitor research
• Tracking engagement and content performance
• Maintaining visual consistency with the practice brand
• Contributing ideas for future educational content

The current focus is static posts/carousels rather than reels, though the role may expand into short-form video or podcast-related content in future.

Examples of visual style/tone we resonate with:
----------
Clean educational carousels, emotionally resonant content, and simple thoughtful layouts.

We are drawn to content that feels:
• Warm
• Thoughtful
• Professional
• Psychologically informed
• Slightly editorial/luxury in aesthetic

We are not looking for overly trendy, influencer-style, or heavily AI-generated content.

Requirements
Essential:
• Strong written English
• Canva skills and good visual design judgement
• Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn
• Ability to create polished, professional-looking content
• Organised and responsive communication
• Comfortable using AI tools to improve workflow efficiency
• Ability to maintain a warm, thoughtful, and professional tone

Highly Regarded:
• Psychology, counselling, marketing, or communications background
• Experience working with therapists, healthcare clinics, or mental health brands
• Canva Pro subscription
• Understanding of psychoeducational content
• Basic SEO or content marketing knowledge
• Experience with podcast editing, audio editing, or content repurposing

Please note this is not an influencer-style social media role. We are looking for someone who appreciates clean, thoughtful, professional branding and can communicate mental health information in a nuanced and accessible way.

Hours & Pay

• Approximately 3-5 hours per week initially
• Maximum capped hours of 5 hours/week
• Pay: $12 AUD/hour
