Summary
We are a US-based digital marketing agency that builds and manages WordPress websites for professional services clients across legal, e-commerce, healthcare, travel, landscaping, retail, and nonprofit. We currently manage seven active client sites and are growing. Every site runs on WordPress with Elementor as the primary page builder.
We need a WordPress Developer who can build and ship client-facing websites and pages at agency pace. Our current bottleneck is web development speed — projects that should take weeks are taking months. If you can take a wireframe, a brand direction, and a set of page requirements and turn them into a polished, mobile-responsive, fast-loading WordPress site using Elementor without constant hand-holding, this role is for you.
This role starts part-time (15–30 hours/week) and has a clear path to full-time as the client portfolio grows. There is no shortage of work — we need someone who can keep up with it.
A portfolio is required. Proposals without links to live WordPress sites you have built will not be considered.
What Agency Pace Means
We want to be direct about this because it is the reason this role exists. In an agency environment, web development moves on client timelines, not open-ended project timelines. Here is what we consider normal throughput for this role:
— A full client website (5–10 pages, standard service business) should move from approved wireframe to staging review in 2–3 weeks, not 2–3 months
— A single landing page or interior page build should take hours, not days
— Page revisions based on feedback should be turned around within 24–48 hours
— You should be able to manage 2–3 active projects simultaneously without losing quality or missing deadlines
If you are someone who needs weeks to build a single page or frequently misses deadlines, this is not the right fit. If you are fast, organized, and take pride in shipping clean work on schedule, you will do very well here.
What You Will Do
Website Builds & Page Development
— Build complete client websites in WordPress using Elementor Theme Builder from wireframes, mockups, or detailed page briefs provided by the founder
— Create and customize page templates, headers, footers, archive pages, single post templates, and dynamic content layouts in Elementor
— Build service pages, landing pages, blog layouts, contact pages, about pages, team pages, and other standard business site pages
— Implement mobile-responsive design across all breakpoints — every page must look clean on desktop, tablet, and mobile
— Build on staging environments and push to production after founder review and approval
WordPress Administration & Plugin Management
— Install, configure, and troubleshoot WordPress plugins including forms (Gravity Forms, WPForms, Contact Form 7), SEO (Rank Math), caching, security, and image optimization (Imagify)
— Manage WordPress updates (core, theme, plugins) and resolve conflicts or issues that arise from updates
— Configure domain connections, SSL, hosting environment settings, and DNS as needed
— Set up and maintain staging environments for safe development and testing
— Troubleshoot site issues — broken layouts, plugin conflicts, slow load times, form errors, 404s — and resolve them without being asked twice
Performance & Quality
— Optimize page speed and Core Web Vitals — compress images, minimize CSS/JS, configure caching, and lazy-load media
— Ensure cross-browser compatibility (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge)
— Implement basic on-page SEO structure as directed (heading hierarchy, alt text, meta fields via Rank Math)
— Follow brand guidelines for each client — correct fonts, colors, spacing, and imagery across all pages
— QA every page before submitting for review — check links, forms, responsive breakpoints, and load times
Collaboration & Process
— Work from clear briefs and wireframes provided by the founder — ask clarifying questions early, not after building the wrong thing
— Provide time estimates for each build and communicate proactively if timelines shift
— Document reusable templates, section libraries, and build patterns so the team can scale
— Coordinate with the content and SEO teams when builds require content integration or technical SEO implementation
What This Role Is Not
— Not a design role — you will receive wireframes, mockups, and brand direction; you are not creating concepts from scratch
— Not an SEO strategist, content writer, or marketing role
— Not a custom PHP developer or theme coder — we build with Elementor, not custom code (though basic CSS/HTML for adjustments is expected)
— Not a general virtual assistant or admin role
— Not client-facing — the founder handles all client communication
Tools You Will Use
You must be highly proficient in WordPress and Elementor. Training provided for agency-specific workflows only.
— WordPress (required — this is the entire job)
— Elementor Pro / Elementor Theme Builder (required — non-negotiable)
— Rank Math (required — for on-page SEO field entry)
— Gravity Forms, WPForms, or Contact Form 7 (required)
— Imagify or ShortPixel (image optimization)
— WP Rocket, LiteSpeed Cache, or equivalent caching plugin
— Google PageSpeed Insights / GTmetrix (performance testing)
— Canva (basic asset resizing and formatting — not design work)
— Google Drive / Docs / Sheets (file and brief management)
— Slack (daily communication)
— Asana (task management tool familiarity — Asana Preferred)
— Staging environments (Bluehost, WP Engine, or equivalent — familiarity required)
Must-Haves
— Portfolio required — you must include links to live WordPress sites you have built or significantly contributed to. Proposals without a portfolio will not be reviewed.
— Minimum 2 years building WordPress websites using Elementor (not just minor edits — full site builds)
— Strong proficiency with Elementor Theme Builder including custom headers, footers, archive templates, and dynamic content
— Demonstrated ability to build a complete business website (5–10 pages) from wireframe to staging in 2–3 weeks
— Experience managing multiple WordPress plugins and resolving plugin conflicts
— Mobile-responsive design skills — your sites must look polished on every device
— Page speed optimization experience — you know how to get pages loading fast without sacrificing quality
— Comfortable working in staging environments and following a staging-to-production deployment workflow
— Basic CSS and HTML for fine-tuning layouts, spacing, and responsive adjustments beyond what Elementor handles natively
— Experience working across multiple client websites simultaneously without mixing up branding, assets, or instructions
— Strong written English — clear communication on timelines, blockers, and questions is essential
— Available Monday–Friday with at least 3 hours of overlap with US Eastern 9 AM–12 PM
— Reliable internet connection with a backup plan
Nice-to-Haves (Not Required, But You Will Stand Out)
— Experience building sites for professional services clients (law firms, healthcare, B2B companies)
— Familiarity with WooCommerce setup and product page builds
— Experience with Elementor custom code widgets or Elementor Pro integrations
— Background in an agency environment building sites for multiple clients on rotation
— Experience with Google Tag Manager container installation and basic conversion tracking setup
— Familiarity with accessibility basics (WCAG compliance, ADA considerations)
— Experience with domain migration, site cloning, or hosting transfers
— Familiarity with Bluehost or WP Engine hosting environments
Hours & Working Style
— Starts part-time: 15–30 hours per week, with a clear path to full-time as the client portfolio grows and build volume increases
— Long-term engagement — we have a growing pipeline of client sites that need building and ongoing maintenance
— Consistent daily availability preferred — web builds move in sprints and require steady progress, not sporadic blocks
— At least 3 hours daily overlap with US Eastern 9 AM–12 PM for feedback loops and approvals
— You will receive detailed briefs and wireframes — your job is to build fast, build clean, and flag blockers early
— You will work alongside the founder (creative direction, client communication, approvals) and coordinate with our content and SEO teams on site launches

How to Apply
Please start your proposal with the word BUILD so we know you read the full post.
In your proposal, please include the following:
1. Links to 2–3 live WordPress sites you built using Elementor. For each, briefly describe your role (full build vs. specific pages), the timeline from start to launch, and any plugins you integrated. This is mandatory — proposals without portfolio links will not be reviewed.
2. A client needs a 7-page professional services website (Home, About, 3 Service pages, Blog, Contact) with a custom header/footer, mobile responsiveness, contact form integration, and basic SEO fields populated. You receive the wireframe and brand assets on day one. How long does it take you to deliver a staging-ready build, and what does your process look like?
3. Are you comfortable working on multiple client sites simultaneously where strategy and creative direction come from the founder, and your focus is building fast and building clean?
