Senior Figma Web Designer (Custom Premium Sites for AU Agency)

We are Northstar Growth, an Australian SEO and web development agency. We build custom websites for Registered Training Organisations and B2B service businesses across Australia.
Our designs are not template-based. They are custom from scratch, every time. We use Figma for design and Bricks Builder (WordPress) for development.
We are hiring one specialist Figma designer. This is a design-only role. We are not looking for a hybrid designer/developer. We tried that. They were mediocre at both. If your portfolio is full of Dribbble shots or Relume-style templates, this role is not for you.

What you will do:

Design custom websites in Figma for our clients
Use components, variants, auto-layout, and design tokens (typography, color, spacing)
Build responsive layouts (desktop, tablet, mobile)
Organise files for clean developer handoff to Bricks Builder
Take a brief, ask smart questions, and produce a first draft that needs minimal revision

Must Haves:

3+ years of Figma web design experience (not app UI only)
Portfolio of real shipped websites with live URLs (not Dribbble shots)
Strong grasp of typography, spacing, hierarchy, and visual taste
Clean Figma file structure with proper component systems
Fluent written English
Reliable internet and ability to do Loom walkthroughs
Some overlap with Australian business hours (AEST is only 2 hours ahead of PHT)

Nice to Have:

Familiarity with Bricks Builder or WordPress page builders
Conversion-focused design thinking
Experience with consulting, training, or professional service brand styling

Compensation:

Paid trial first: $75 USD flat for a 2-3 hour trial brief
Then ongoing work paid as $1,200 to $1,500 USD per month retainer for 12-15 pages, or $75 USD per fully-designed page if you prefer project-based
We pay fast via Wise on the 15th and 30th of each month
13th month bonus in December after 6 months of consistent work
Performance raises after 6 months
