We are looking for a versatile and detail-oriented Video Editing Virtual Assistant to handle all aspects of our video content repurposing. This role involves transforming our existing video library—from long-form tutorials to live recordings—into polished, engaging content suitable for platforms like YouTube and TikTok. You’ll be responsible for both long-form and short-form editing, ensuring clarity, conciseness, and brand consistency.
Responsibilities:
Trim longer videos (ex: 1 hour) into tighter, more polished versions (ex: 45 minutes), or condense shorter content into impactful clips (5–10 minutes)
Repurpose older content by combining multiple videos into cohesive longer-form educational content
Identify strong
Edit live recordings by removing dead space, audio issues, mistakes, or off-topic sections
Add captions, graphics, text overlays, transitions, zooms, or visual callouts when appropriate
Follow mouse movement naturally during tutorial-style content, especially Canva or design-related videos
Create YouTube thumbnails that match brand colors and overall content style
Ensure edits are clear, concise, visually engaging, and aligned with brand tone and messaging
Repurpose existing content creatively to maximize use of our current video library
Organize completed video files within Google Drive using a clear file structure
Upload final exported videos as MP4 files

Webinar-style content
“Design With Me” videos
Trend reports
TikTok/Reels/Shorts
YouTube videos
Repurposed livestreams
Voiceover replacements or overlays
Requirements:
Strong video editing skills for both short-form and long-form content
Ability to identify engaging
Good understanding of pacing, clarity, and educational-style editing
Ability to follow brand colors and maintain visual consistency
Strong communication and responsiveness
Comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions when needed
Organized and able to manage files efficiently within Google Drive
Expectations:
Typical turnaround time for projects is approximately one week unless otherwise discussed
Communication is very important; if a deadline is not possible, please communicate as soon as possible
Most content should feel educational, engaging, and polished without being overly flashy or overedited
Test Task:
Applicants may be asked to complete a short editing test. This will typically involve cutting a longer Canva tutorial video into several short-form TikTok-style clips that follow mouse movement naturally and maintain viewer engagement.
Pay:
$6/hour
Estimated 10–20 hours per week, may be more for the first few months as we move through a large library of content
