We’re seeking a highly organised, research focused virtual assistant to source acquisition opportunities, contact brokers and maintain an accurate deal pipeline. You will be the first point of contact between me and brokers, so confidence, clarity and discretion are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Research: Actively hunt broker sites, marketplaces and directories to find deals that fit our “buy box,” not just random listings.
- Outreach: Proactively contact brokers to request IMs, follow-up persistently and close the loop.
- Pipeline: Maintain a live, accurate pipeline in CRM or spreadsheets, with clear status labels and follow-up dates.
- Screening: Filter out clearly non-viable leads and escalate only those that genuinely warrant the principal’s time.
- Urgency: Flag urgent or high potential deals with a short, structured summary.
Growth Path (Post Trial)
Once you prove you can consistently source, track, and qualify leads, you’ll move into deal analysis, including:
- Structuring and summarising IMs in a consistent, investor ready format.
- Extracting KPIs (e.g., revenue, EBITDA, customer concentration, lease terms) and presenting them clearly.
- Spotting and highlighting potential risks.
- Comparing deals against our investment thesis.
Must-Have Qualifications
You are not a passive admin; you are the first point of contact between me and brokers. You must be comfortable initiating contact, following up assertively and protecting my reputation in every interaction.
- Confident outbound communicator – Comfortable calling senior brokers and following up persistently if
- Proactive problem solver – Owns follow-ups and escalates issues without being told.
- Strong written English and business tone – Writes concise, professional outreach that sounds like a serious investor’s representative.
- High impact researcher – Goes beyond the first page results and finds genuinely relevant deals.
- Extreme attention to detail – Keeps the pipeline clean and accurate.
- Ownership mindset – Manages the pipeline as if it were their own.
- Discretion and maturity – Handles confidential deal information professionally.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in M&A, business brokerage, market research or lead generation.
- Comfortable reading basic financial statements (revenue, EBITDA and profitability).
- Hands on experience with CRM or structured spreadsheets.
How to Apply
Send a brief cover letter explaining why you’re a strong fit. Include:
- Your experience with internet research or lead generation.
- An example of how you manage complex, ongoing tasks.
Start your application with the word “ACQUISITION” so we know you read the full post.
Shortlisted candidates will complete a short, paid 30-minute research task to demonstrate their skills.
