JOB OVERVIEW

Company Overview

We are a fully integrated Microsoft cloud ecosystem. To support our operational scaling, we utilize leading SaaS solutions across construction, HR, and finance - specifically Procore, ELMO, Hammertech, ProcurementPro, and SAGE. We are unifying our distributed cloud data into a centralized architecture to drive automated, real-time Power BI reporting.

---

Position Overview
· Role: Data & Analytics Engineer (Power BI & ETL Pipelines)
· Location: Remote / Hybrid (St. Ives NSW, Australia or global)
· Type: Part-time (3~6Months)
· Experience Level: Mid to Senior (3+ years in Data Engineering / BI Engineering)

Core Architectural Goal
The primary objective of this role is to extract data via REST APIs from our five core SaaS platforms, construct automated ETL/ELT pipelines, and stage this data centrally.

Note: While our current file infrastructure is centered around SharePoint, you will evaluate, architect, and deploy the optimal long-term data staging repository—whether utilizing modern SharePoint/Dataverse structures or transitioning us to a dedicated Snowflake Cloud Data Platform.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Pipeline & ETL Development
· Design, build, and maintain automated pipelines to extract data from Procore, ELMO, Hammertech, ProcurementPro, and SAGE APIs.
· Handle various SaaS authentication protocols safely (e.g., OAuth 2.0, Bearer Tokens, API Keys).
· Clean, transform, and model raw JSON/REST responses into optimized, structured relational formats.

2. Database Architecture & Storage Management
· Set up, manage, and scale the centralized target database.
· Evaluate and implement the ideal storage design: establishing modern data lists/files inside our existing Microsoft SharePoint environment, or engineering a scalable data warehouse using Snowflake.
· Ensure optimal data indexing, partitioning, and delta tracking to manage API data volume efficiently.

3. Power BI Dashboards & Semantic Modeling
· Develop, publish, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI reports and interactive dashboards.
· Author complex, high-performance DAX calculations and measures for business key performance indicators (KPIs).
· Establish clean, scalable star-schema data models optimized for fast cross-filtering and drill-downs.
· Configure scheduled incremental updates via the Power BI Service and gateways.

Required Skills & Qualifications
· BI Visualization: High proficiency with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and Power Query (M).
· API Integration: Proven experience programmatically querying REST APIs, dealing with pagination, and handling data payloads.
· Data Pipelines & Orchestration: Strong experience using integration tools to move data (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Power Automate/Logic Apps, Python, or dbt).
· SQL & Data Warehousing: Advanced SQL scripting skills and hands-on exposure to cloud data platforms like Snowflake or relational engines (SQL Server/Azure SQL).
· Microsoft Ecosystem: Strong working knowledge of the SharePoint architecture, file libraries, and Microsoft 365 permissions.

Preferred Qualifications
· Prior integration experience with Procore Analytics (Delta Sharing) or HammerTech Reporting APIs.
· Background in construction, procurement, or enterprise asset management industries.
· Experience advising small-to-midmarket organizations on when to migrate from SharePoint storage to dedicated cloud data warehouses (Snowflake).
