Senior Shopify Technical SEO Specialist (Canonical, Crawl Budget & Indexation Cleanup)

We are looking for a highly experienced Shopify Technical SEO Specialist to help analyze and resolve critical technical SEO and indexation issues for a large ecommerce store.

IMPORTANT:
This is NOT a basic SEO/content role. We are specifically looking for someone with REAL hands-on experience in advanced Shopify technical SEO, ecommerce crawl/indexation optimization, and large-scale duplicate URL management.

Required Experience & Skills:

* Shopify Technical SEO
* Ecommerce SEO
* Canonical optimization
* Crawl budget optimization
* Google Search Console coverage/indexation analysis
* Faceted navigation handling
* Duplicate content cleanup
* Shopify collection/filter/tag URL structures
* Technical SEO audits
* Crawlability & indexability optimization
* Redirect and 404 management
* Shopify SEO architecture

Current issues include:

* Large amount of duplicate URLs generated by collection filters, sorting parameters, and tag-based URLs
* Missing/inconsistent canonical handling
* High amount of “Crawled – currently not indexed” pages
* Large number of non-indexed URLs
* 404 and redirect issues
* Crawl inefficiencies and possible crawl budget waste
* 429 crawl errors during SEO crawls
* Significant drop in indexed pages over recent months
* General Shopify indexation instability

We are looking for someone who can:

* Perform a detailed technical SEO audit
* Identify the root causes of crawl/indexation issues
* Recommend practical and scalable solutions
* Improve crawl efficiency and index quality
* Help clean up duplicate URL/indexation problems
* Optimize Shopify canonical handling
* Provide implementation guidance or assist implementation directly

Preferred Experience:

* Large Shopify or Shopify Plus stores
* Enterprise ecommerce SEO
* Faceted navigation SEO handling
* Crawl budget optimization
* Advanced Google Search Console debugging
* Technical SEO for stores with large product/catalog structures

Tools/Platforms Experience:

* Google Search Console
* Screaming Frog
* Sitebulb
* Ahrefs / Semrush
* Shopify admin & Shopify URL structures
