Why This Role Matters
Nestvillage operates group homes in Arizona that care for adults with developmental disabilities. The people we hire — direct care workers — quite literally shape the daily lives of our residents. Bad hires cause real harm. Slow hiring leaves homes understaffed.
We need a recruiter who treats this like the high-stakes, high-volume operation it is: 20 - 30 direct care staff hires per month, every month, without dropping quality. You will own the entire pipeline — from job-board listing to first day on the floor — and you will be measured on speed, fill rate, and 90-day retention of the people you hire.
About Nestvillage
We are a small, fast-growing company in Sun City, Arizona providing residential care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We are mission-driven, family-run, and serious about building a workforce that reflects the care our residents deserve. This is our first dedicated recruiting hire — you will help build the function from the ground up.
What You’ll Own
You run the full recruiting cycle for direct care workers across all Nestvillage locations. End to end. No hand-offs.
Sourcing: Post and refresh listings on Indeed, ZipRecruiter, Glassdoor,
Screening: Review applications same-day. Conduct phone and video screens to assess fit for shift work, values alignment with IDD care, basic English, reliability, and red flags. Move qualified candidates forward within 24 hours.
Interviewing: Run structured interviews independently. Make hiring recommendations. Loop in the hiring manager only when needed — your judgment is trusted.
Pre-employment clearance: Coordinate fingerprinting, background checks, reference checks, drug screens, TB tests, CPR/First Aid, Article 9, Prevention & Support, and DCW certification. Track every requirement in the ATS until the candidate is cleared.
Onboarding handoff: Get new hires through paperwork, I-9, direct deposit, required training modules, and scheduled start date — fast. Hand them off to operations clean and ready to work.
Pipeline management: Maintain a live applicant pipeline in our ATS. Every candidate has a current status. Nothing falls through.
Reporting: Send a weekly report: applications received, screens completed, offers extended, hires closed, time-to-fill, and any blockers. We will set KPI targets together in your first week.
Process improvement: Test new sourcing channels. Improve screening questions. Cut time-to-fill quarter over quarter.
What Success Looks Like
We will measure performance, not hours. Concrete targets:
20-30 direct care staff hires closed per month, sustained
Time-to-fill under 14 days from application to first shift
90-day retention of your hires above 70%
Same-day response to every qualified applicant
Zero open requisitions stalled more than 7 days without action
Must-Have Qualifications
1+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in high-volume, hourly, or shift-based hiring (healthcare, home care, hospitality, BPO, or similar).
Excellent written and spoken English. You will be calling American applicants daily — they need to understand you clearly and trust you immediately.
Proven ability to work U.S. business hours. Minimum 6 hours of daily overlap with 8 AM – 5 PM Arizona time (MST/UTC?7).
Reliable high-speed internet (25+ Mbps), backup power or a backup workspace, a quiet professional environment for calls, and a working headset and webcam.
Comfort with ATS, spreadsheets, video calls, and cloud tools. You should not need hand-holding through Google Workspace, Zoom, or a basic applicant tracker.
Self-directed and organized. We will not micromanage. We will measure outcomes.
Mission alignment. You need to actually care that the people you place are going to support vulnerable adults. We screen for this.
