Position Overview
The SEO Specialist is responsible for improving website visibility, search engine rankings, and organic traffic across multiple websites and digital platforms. This role focuses on developing and executing SEO strategies, conducting keyword and competitor research, optimising website content and structure, and monitoring performance to drive organic growth and lead generation.
The position requires strong knowledge of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO, along with the ability to analyse data, identify opportunities, and implement effective optimisation strategies. The SEO Specialist will work closely with marketing, content, and web teams to ensure SEO best practices are consistently applied across all digital assets.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement SEO strategies to improve organic search rankings and traffic
Conduct keyword research and competitor analysis
Optimise website pages, metadata, headings, internal links, and content structure
Perform technical SEO audits and coordinate fixes with developers or relevant teams
Monitor website performance, indexing, crawl issues, and ranking trends
Build and execute ethical link-building strategies
Work closely with content, marketing, and web teams to align SEO efforts
Track and report SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar platforms
Identify opportunities for content growth and organic lead generation
Stay updated with Google algorithm updates and SEO best practices
Manage SEO for multiple websites or brands when required
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as an SEO Specialist or similar role
Strong understanding of on-page, off-page, and technical SEO
Experience with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, SurferSEO, or equivalent
Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and keyword tracking tools
Basic understanding of HTML, WordPress, and website structure
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
High attention to detail and organisational skills
Preferred Experience
Experience managing SEO campaigns for Australian, US, or international markets
Experience with local SEO and Google Business Profile optimisation
Familiarity with AI-assisted content optimisation tools
Understanding of conversion optimisation and user experience (UX)
Experience working with content teams and developers
Knowledge of backlink outreach and digital PR strategies
