Collections Specialist

Job Title: Collections Specialist (3PL)

Job Summary:
The Collections Specialist is responsible for managing and collecting outstanding accounts receivable for a third-party logistics (3PL) company. This role focuses on maintaining healthy cash flow by ensuring timely payment from clients while preserving strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts
Contact customers via phone and email to resolve outstanding balances
Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies in coordination with operations and billing teams
Maintain accurate records of collection activities and customer communications
Negotiate payment plans when necessary
Provide regular updates on account status and collection efforts to management
Support month-end closing processes related to accounts receivable

Qualifications:

2+ years of collections or accounts receivable experience (logistics or 3PL preferred)
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
Proficiency in accounting or ERP systems
Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with transportation billing, freight terms, and logistics operations
Experience handling high-volume B2B collections
