Assistant Accountant / Financial Reporting Preparer/Senior Accountant

About the Role

PMG Financial Clarity is a growing Australian bookkeeping, accounting and tax firm. We are looking for an experienced offshore assistant accountant who can prepare review-ready accounting files, BAS, simple individual tax returns, workpapers and financial reports.

Main Duties
- Prepare BAS and GST reconciliations
- Prepare simple individual tax returns for review
- Assist with basic tax planning schedules and queries
- Prepare workpapers and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare draft journals, accruals and prepayments
- Prepare financial reports and management accounts for review
- Prepare client queries and review notes
- Update workflow tasks in AccountKit
- Save workpapers in Google Drive
- Use AI tools to assist with summaries, review notes and workflow

Required Experience
- Australian accounting and tax preparation experience
- Ability to prepare simple BAS with limited supervision
- Ability to prepare simple individual tax returns
- Basic Australian tax planning knowledge
- Strong Xero experience
- QuickBooks Online experience
- Google Drive / Google Workspace experience
- Good Excel or Google Sheets skills
- Good written English
- High attention to detail
- Must be able to work Australian business hours
