I am hiring a GAAP Accountant

I am hiring a full-time remote GAAP Accountant.

This role is a good fit for someone with strong accounting experience, advanced QuickBooks Online skills, and a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP. The firm already has a strong bookkeeping team, so I am looking for someone who can support both regular accounting work and more advanced accounting projects such as accrual conversions, inventory accounting, COGS reconstruction, and financial statement preparation.

Key Responsibilities:
-Handle monthly bookkeeping and accounting tasks for assigned client accounts
-Categorize transactions and complete bank and credit card reconciliations
-Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable
-Prepare financial statements under U.S. GAAP for review
-Support bookkeeping cleanups and accrual basis conversions
-Help build or improve inventory tracking systems in QuickBooks Online
-Assist with cost of goods sold, margin analysis, and project level profitability tracking
-Support construction accounting, job costing, WIP schedules, and project level reporting
Flag discrepancies, unusual entries, or reconciliation issues before client review
-Work with client contacts when needed to gather information and clarify accounting details
-Document client specific accounting processes, methodologies, and SOPs
-Support the bookkeeping team by answering technical questions and explaining GAAP principles clearly

What I Am Looking For:
-At least 4 years of progressive accounting experience
-Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, especially accrual accounting, revenue recognition, COGS, financial statements, and balance sheet accuracy
-Experience handling multiple client accounts each month
-Advanced QuickBooks Online experience
-Experience with inventory accounting, COGS, and accrual conversions
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy
-Strong written and verbal English communication skills
-Comfortable working Central Standard Time hours
-CPA background, CPA exam progress, Big 4, regional CPA firm, or U.S.-facing accounting experience is a plus
-Construction accounting experience is also a plus

This is a senior accounting role, so I am looking for someone precise, reliable, methodical, and comfortable handling technical accounting work across multiple clients.
