Senior Staff Accountant – Retail Operations & Financial Controls
Remote – Philippines
Wonderlosity is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to become a key operational and financial partner within our growing multi-brand retail company.
This is not a basic bookkeeping role.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations, expense controls, reconciliation workflows, and financial organization across multiple retail brands and locations.
The ideal candidate enjoys creating structure, identifying inconsistencies, improving processes, and helping leadership maintain clear financial visibility in a fast-moving environment.
This role works directly with company leadership and will become a critical long-term operational support function as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities
Reconciliation & Financial Accuracy
* Own daily and weekly reconciliation of company credit cards and bank accounts within Xero
* Match transactions against receipts and supporting documentation using Dext
* Investigate discrepancies, duplicate charges, missing receipts, and uncategorized expenses
* Ensure financial records remain accurate, organized, and audit-ready
Expense Management & Financial Controls
* Monitor company spending activity across multiple stores and departments
* Follow up on missing receipts and incomplete documentation
* Assist in maintaining internal financial controls and approval workflows
* Identify unusual transactions, inconsistencies, or process breakdowns
* Help leadership maintain accountability and visibility into operational spending
Accounting Operations
* Manage accounts payable and vendor invoice workflows
* Assist with monthly close processes
* Ensure expenses are categorized correctly across inventory, fixtures, operating expenses, marketing, leasehold improvements, and other retail accounting categories
* Support multi-location and multi-brand accounting organization
Process Improvement
* Help improve accounting workflows and operational systems as the company scales
* Create organization and structure around financial processes
* Recommend improvements to reporting, reconciliation, and expense tracking systems
Systems & Tools
* Xero
* Dext
* Google Sheets / Excel
* Square
* Inventory Planner
* Thrive Inventory
*
Strong Xero experience is highly preferred.
Qualifications
* 4+ years experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or staff accountant roles
* Strong reconciliation and expense management experience
* Experience supporting multi-location retail, ecommerce, or inventory-based businesses preferred
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
* Strong written and verbal English communication skills
* Comfortable working independently and proactively
* Ability to manage large transaction volumes accurately and efficiently
* Strong problem-solving mindset and process-oriented thinking
