Virtual Medical Assistant -- Psychiatric Practice Support
Part-Time | Remote

SparkWell Mental Health Services is a psychiatric practice providing embedded mental health care to residents in assisted living and memory care communities across Colorado. Our clinicians are PMHNPs (psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners) serving a geriatric population, many of whom are living with dementia, Alzheimer's, and complex co-occurring conditions.

We are looking for an experienced, compassionate Virtual Medical Assistant who understands the language and sensitivity of psychiatric care and can communicate professionally with patients, families, and facility staff.

What You Will Do
Provide daily administrative support to one or more assigned PMHNPs
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to visits
Identify primary and secondary insurance including Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial plans
Support prior authorization follow-up and tracking
Communicate with payers and insurance representatives
Enter and manage patient information accurately in the EHR
Support clinical documentation workflows and chart organization
Coordinate with patients, family members, and facility staff with warmth and professionalism
Support scheduling, referral coordination, and general administrative tasks

Requirements
3 to 5 years of experience as a medical assistant or clinical administrative role
Experience in a psychiatric, behavioral health, or geriatric care setting
EHR experience with SimplePractice and/or athenahealth
Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
Familiarity with Medicare and Medicare Advantage, including primary/secondary insurance concepts
Fluent professional English, written and spoken
Self-directed and reliable in a remote, asynchronous environment

Schedule and Compensation
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - (2 hours per day = 8hrs per week)
9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Mountain Time (Denver, CO)
$6 to $8 USD per hour based on experience
Part-time to start with a clear path to expanded hours and full-time within 6 months. We are growing and want someone to grow with us.
