Hey,
I'm looking for a video editor to join our team and help us pump out content for DTC brands. This isn't your average editing gig — we move fast, we care about quality, and we need someone who actually gets the game.
What you'll be doing:
You'll be editing videos based on SOPs we provide. You get the A-rolls, the B-rolls, the briefs, and from there it's all you. VSLs, UGC ads, organic-style content, general short-form stuff — we do it all. You need to be comfortable taking raw footage and turning it into something that actually performs, without us having to hold your hand through every step.
What I expect from you:
- Minimum 2 years of experience editing for DTC brands (this is non-negotiable, please don't apply if you don't have this)
- You've worked with SOPs before and you know how to follow them while still bringing your own touch
- Solid experience with VSLs, UGC ads, and general video content
- You understand the DTC space — hooks, pacing, retention, the whole thing. If I have to explain why a hook matters, this isn't for you
- High quality + high speed. Both. Not one or the other
- You can realistically deliver 2 to 3 videos per hour depending on complexity (some will be quicker, some slower, that's fine, but the average needs to land there)
Rate:
$7.5 per hour. Pretty straightforward.
A few extra things:
I'd rather pay someone good and keep them around for a long time than cycle through editors every month. So if you're solid and easy to work with, there's a lot of room to grow with us and take on more hours.
If you've actually read this whole post, send the word "DTC" somewhere in your application so I know you're paying attention. You'd be surprised how many people skip this part.
Send over your portfolio, a few examples of DTC work you've done (VSLs or UGC ads preferred), and a short note about yourself. No long essays needed — just show me you can do the work.
Looking forward to seeing what you've got.
