JOB TITLE: Fractional accounting advisor — Xero / construction operations

ABOUT US:
Turns & Reno is a fast-growing tech-enabled renovation and turn service for investor-owned single family rental properties in the Phoenix metro. We manage a portfolio of 100+ properties and are scaling rapidly.

We have a solid bookkeeper handling day-to-day operations. What we need now is a higher-level advisor — someone who can review our financial setup, guide our bookkeeper, help ownership interpret the numbers, and ensure our systems and processes are built to scale.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS:
This is an advisory and oversight role — not execution. Our bookkeeper handles the day-to-day. You're the expert in the room who reviews their work, identifies gaps, recommends improvements, and helps ownership make smarter financial decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Review and oversight
Periodically review our Xero setup, books, and financial workflows. Identify gaps, errors, or inefficiencies and work with our bookkeeper to correct them.

Bookkeeper coaching and guidance
Serve as a resource and mentor for our bookkeeper. Answer questions, provide direction on best practices, and help them level up.

Job costing guidance
Help us set up and interpret job costing in Xero — cost per property, per trade, per vendor.

Owner-level financial clarity
Help ownership understand what the numbers are saying. Translate financial reports into operational insights.

Systems and process recommendations
Identify opportunities to improve how we use Xero, structure our chart of accounts, or automate financial workflows.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Xero certified or expert-level
- Construction or trades industry experience
- Job costing familiarity
- Comfortable advising non-financial founders
- Fractional or advisory experience preferred
- AI/automation curiosity a plus

ENGAGEMENT DETAILS:
Fractional / part-time ongoing. Rate negotiable.
