About Eyonzy
Eyonzy is a specialist maritime recruitment consultancy operating across the full spectrum of the global maritime industry — ship management, offshore oil and gas, offshore wind, naval architecture, marine engineering, and maritime operations. We work with owners, operators, managers and contractors to place high-calibre technical and commercial professionals into roles that matter.
We are growing our international presence and are looking for a driven, commercially minded recruitment consultant to lead our APAC desk from Singapore — one of the world's most important maritime hubs.
The Opportunity
This is a true 360 role. You will build and own your own desk — developing client relationships with shipowners, ship managers, offshore operators and maritime businesses across the APAC region, while simultaneously sourcing and managing candidates from the regional talent pool. You will not be handed a warm desk; you will build one, with the support of an experienced team and an established brand.
Singapore is the world's busiest port, home to the world's leading ship management companies, one of the most active LNG and tanker markets, and a growing hub for offshore energy and maritime technology. This role gives you direct access to that ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Identify and target shipping companies, ship managers, offshore operators and maritime service providers across Singapore and the broader APAC region (focusing on Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, India, Australia)
- Build and maintain relationships with hiring managers, HR leads and C-suite decision makers at target clients
- Pitch Eyonzy's services through direct outreach, networking, industry events and referrals
- Negotiate and agree terms of business with new clients
- Develop a pipeline of repeat business by delivering consistently strong results
Candidate Management
- Source, approach and build relationships with maritime professionals across the APAC region — including officers, engineers, naval architects, marine superintendents, technical managers and commercial specialists
- Conduct thorough candidate interviews and assessments; prepare compelling candidate submissions
- Manage candidates throughout the recruitment process — briefing, interview preparation, offer management, onboarding support
- Build a talent network relevant to the region's key sectors: bulk carriers, tankers, container shipping, LNG, offshore support, ship management
Search Execution
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of live searches — from brief to placement
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client and candidate activity
- Provide clients with market intelligence, salary benchmarking and hiring advice relevant to APAC
- Hit and exceed monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets
What We're Looking For
Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in 360 recruitment or business development, ideally within maritime, shipping, offshore or a closely adjacent technical sector
- Demonstrable track record of business development and fee generation
- Experience working within or alongside APAC maritime markets is strongly preferred
Knowledge
- Understanding of the maritime industry — vessel types, rank structures, certification requirements (STCW), shore-based career pathways
- Awareness of key shipping hubs and employers across APAC — Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan
- Familiarity with visa and right-to-work considerations across the region
Personal Qualities
- Self-starter who can build a desk from the ground up without constant oversight
- Commercially driven with a consultative approach — you advise, you don't just transact
- Resilient and persistent; comfortable with the long-game nature of building a specialist market
- Culturally aware and able to build trust across diverse business cultures in the region
- Excellent communicator — written and spoken English essential; Mandarin, Cantonese, or Bahasa an advantage
Practical
- Working hours aligned to Singapore time (SGT / UTC+8)
- Willingness to travel within the region for client and candidate meetings
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
- Uncapped commission — the APAC desk is yours to build and profit from
- Full autonomy over your desk, clients and strategy — with senior support
- Access to Eyonzy's global candidate network, tools and research capability
- Direct line to the Managing Director — no bureaucracy, fast decisions
- Genuine career progression as the APAC operation grows
- The chance to be the first name in maritime specialist recruitment in a region that is underserved by genuine sector specialists
About the Role Structure
This is an autonomous, entrepreneurial position. You will be working remotely from Singapore, aligned to SGT business hours, with regular contact with the UK leadership team. You will be expected to attend industry events in Singapore and travel within the APAC region as the desk develops.
