What you will be doing
• Review drawings, site photos, or client briefs to prepare accurate cost estimates
• Create technical drawings based on site measurements or client input
• Calculate materials, labour, overheads, and margins to develop competitive quotes
• Liaise with workshop staff, suppliers, and customers to clarify job details
• Prepare and submit formal quotes for both standard and custom jobs
• Follow up on open quotes in coordination with the admin/sales team
• Update pricing templates and maintain materials databases
• Assist in the handover of awarded jobs to the production team
• Manage quote records and track progress using CRM and job management tools (Pipedrive, AroFlo)
Who we are looking for
• Strong understanding of metal fabrication and tube/pipe bending processes
• 2+ years of experience in estimating or hands-on fabrication roles
• Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel or estimating software
• Proficiency in CAD design
• Familiarity with Pipedrive, AroFlo, or similar CRM/job management systems
• Trade background in fabrication is highly desirable
• Experience working for an Australian company or knowledge of Australian industry standards is a plus
