SEO & AI Search Manager (SEO / AEO / AIO / GEO / LLMO)

ABOUT SEQUENCE COMMERCE

We are a Canadian DTC growth agency specializing in Amazon, Walmart, Consulting, Shopify, SEO and website services for ecommerce brands. We help our clients win across all four search disciplines: traditional SEO (Google), AEO (AI Overviews and answer engines), GEO (generative engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity), and LLMO (large language model citation share).

We are growing and need a specialist who can execute audits, deploy schema, write pillar content, and run AI citation tracking across our client roster.


THE ROLE
You will work directly with the founder and execute the technical and content work that powers our retainer engagements. This is a hands-on management role meant to help our company build out the service from scratch. You will be doing the actual SEO work, not delegating it.

What you will do week to week:

- Run Ahrefs data pulls (we have an MCP integration that makes this fast)
- Build keyword opportunity lists and competitor benchmarks
- Deploy schema markup on Shopify and Magento sites (Product, Review,
AggregateRating, FAQPage, HowTo, BreadcrumbList)
- Audit and fix technical SEO issues (redirects, crawl errors, Core Web
Vitals, hreflang)
- Write pillar content and buyer guides (1,500-3,000 words, optimized
for both Google and AI citations)
- Test priority queries across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google
AI Overviews to track citation share
- Conduct editorial seeding outreach to land clients in "best of" lists
- Run link reclamation outreach to recover lost backlinks
- Build monthly client reports with before/after data
- Use our internal Claude-based audit toolkit to generate client
deliverables (we will train you on this)


REQUIREMENTS (must have)

- 2+ years of hands-on SEO experience (technical SEO, on-page, content)
- 1+ years of hands-on AEO / AIO / GEO / LLMO experience
- Proficient with Ahrefs, Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4
- Comfortable deploying schema markup via JSON-LD on Shopify or Magento
- Strong written English (your pillar content will go directly to client
sites; please share writing samples)
