The Birdhouse Records
Content Creator (Short-Form / Music / House)
Remote · Part-time (?10 hrs/week)

About Birdhouse:
Birdhouse Records is an independent house music label focused on disco, funky, and groove-driven music.
We’re building artists, not just releasing tracks.
That means content isn’t filler, it’s how the music spreads.

The Role:

This is not a posting role.
This is not just video editing.

You are responsible for:
Finding what works
Turning that into ideas
Executing those ideas into content
You will not be filming yourself.

You will be working with:
DJ footage
Artist-submitted clips
Existing online media
Raw assets we provide

Your job is to turn that into content people actually watch.

Responsibilities:

1. Research (this is a big part of the job)
Study artists, labels, and music accounts that are growing
Identify specific posts that are performing well
Break down why they work (hook, format, pacing)
Bring back ideas we can replicate or adapt

2. Concept Development
Turn tracks, moments, or artist stories into content ideas
Create clear concepts before editing (not just “cut clips together”)
Suggest what footage we need from artists when necessary

3. Editing & Execution
Create short-form videos (10–90 seconds)
Use hooks, captions, pacing, and structure that drive retention
Edit using tools like CapCut, Premiere, etc. (nothing overly complex)

4. Content Output
Focus on Instagram first (Reels), with reuse for TikTok/Shorts
Aim for consistent, repeatable formats and not random one-offs
Prioritize engagement and watch time over “polished” visuals

5. Optimization
Pay attention to what performs
Double down on winning formats
Iterate quickly

What We’re Looking For:
You understand house / EDM culture (required)
You’ve created or managed content that gets consistent engagement
Doesn’t need to be viral
But should show ~1k+ views per post consistently
You know what makes someone stop scrolling
You can think in formats and hooks, not just edits
You are proactive and don’t need constant direction
You speak fluent english (accent is okay)

What We Don’t Need:
Someone who only edits clips we hand them
Someone who waits to be told exactly what to do
Someone focused on “cinematic” or overly polished content

If that’s you, this won’t be a fit.

Bonus (Not Required):
Experience working with artists or music brands
Basic understanding of music promotion
DJ/producer background

What Success Looks Like:
Consistent content output every week
Repeatable content formats that perform
Regular posts hitting 1k–5k+ views, with some scaling higher
Clear improvement over time based on iteration
