## Job title
Short-Form Video Editor for Calm, Premium Travel Brand (Instagram Reels / TikTok)
## About the role
We’re looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented **short-form video editor** to help grow **Robin’s Hidden Treasures**, a travel brand focused on **sensory-friendly travel** for people who are sensitive to noise, crowds, overstimulation, and chaotic environments.
This is **not** a meme editing role. We are looking for someone to help us ideate and edit scroll-stopping videos.
We want **clean, calm, premium short-form videos** that still perform well on Instagram Reels and TikTok.
The content will help travelers discover:
- quieter hotels
- calmer neighborhoods
- sensory-friendly experiences
- practical travel tips for sensitive travelers
## About the brand
Robin’s Hidden Treasures is building a trusted travel platform for people who want to travel the world without sensory overload. These people are often autistic, or are not aware of their own sensitivities.
We review destinations, hotels, restaurants, and experiences through a sensory lens, including things like:
- noise
- crowds
- lighting
- scents
- textures
- temperature
- availability of retreat spaces
The goal is to create content that feels:
- useful
- elegant
- grounded
- human
- premium
## What you’ll do
- Edit short-form videos for **Instagram Reels** initally, and **TikTok** in the future
- Turn raw travel footage into engaging videos with strong hooks and clear story flow
- Add clean, readable subtitles
- Select good cuts, pacing, b-roll moments, and transitions
- Follow brand direction and feedback closely
- Create repeatable templates we can use across multiple videos
- Help us build a backlog of high-quality short-form content
## Example video formats
You’ll likely be editing recurring formats like:
- **Sensory Score in 30 Seconds**
- **Quiet Corner Hunt**
- **One Sensory Hack**
- **Is It Worth It for Sensitive Travelers?**
- **3 Mistakes to Avoid in [Destination]**
- **Calm vs Chaos Comparison**
- **Mini Travel Story**
- **Budget vs Comfort Trade-Off**
## What we’re looking for
You’re a strong fit if you:
- have experience editing short-form vertical content
- understand hooks, retention, pacing, and clear storytelling
- can make videos feel **premium**, not cheap or chaotic
- have strong subtitle styling instincts
- are coachable and responsive to feedback
- communicate clearly and reliably
- can work with a consistent brand style
- have a good eye for travel, lifestyle, or creator content
## Important style notes
Please only apply if you can genuinely edit in this style:
- calm, premium, tasteful
- not over-edited
- not noisy
- not cluttered
- not heavy on meme effects
- not full of random zooms/sound effects just for attention
We want strong performance, but the brand should still feel refined and trustworthy.
## Requirements
- Experience editing **Reels / TikToks / YouTube Shorts**
- Proficiency in tools like **CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar**
- Good English comprehension
- Ability to follow a brief carefully
- Ability to deliver on time
- Stable internet and reliable communication
## Nice to have
- Experience editing travel or lifestyle content
- Experience editing for female creators or personal brands
- Good taste in typography and motion
- Understanding of what makes content saveable/shareable, not just flashy
## Hours / setup
- Freelance / part-time to start
- Potential for ongoing work if it’s a strong fit
- We want to start with a **paid test project** before committing to regular work
## Pay
Please include your **rate per video** and/or **monthly retainer options**.
We are open to starting with per-video work first, then moving into a more regular arrangement if the fit is strong.
## How to apply
Please send:
1. A short intro about yourself
2. Links to **3–5 examples** of short-form videos you edited
3. Your editing software
4. Your typical turnaround time
5. Your rate per video
6. A short note on how you would approach editing a **calm, premium travel Reel** differently from a loud viral-style Reel
## Important
To show that you read this carefully, please include the phrase:
**“Sensory-friendly Travel Videos”**
at the top of your application.
## Trial process
Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete **one paid test edit** using the same footage/brief so we can compare:
- hook quality
- pacing
- subtitles
- brand fit
- polish
- revision quality
- communication speed
## Why this role is interesting
This is a chance to help build a distinctive travel brand in an underserved niche. We’re not trying to become generic travel content. We want to create something more useful, more thoughtful, and more durable. You would be getting in on the ground floor of a social media page that actually wants to help people. As the travel content begins to perform well and convert to revenue, we will have room to move the role to full-time, if interested.
If that sounds like your kind of work, we’d love to hear from you.
