JOB OVERVIEW

Who We Are

Feathers Project is a non-profit dedicated to finding the poorest of the poor in the Philippines, those who have fallen through the cracks—people living in dire conditions without any other form of assistance. Our mission is to ensure “100% direct charity”. We do this with a small team that goes into the most poverty darkened communities in search of those in the greatest need of charity, and we provide the sponsors’ donations to them—directly.

Feathers Project is mostly funded by partner companies whose employees become volunteers to ensure integrity in the process. We emphasize disciplined processes, transparency, and audits to ensure that we do not wander from the mission.

What You’ll Do – Position Summary:

The Grant Writer will play a key role in securing funding to support Feathers Project’s mission of delivering “100% direct charity” to underserved communities in the Philippines. As a Grant Writer, you will directly contribute to expanding Feathers Project’s reach and strengthening its programs by securing funding from local and international donors. Your work will enable the organization to scale its initiatives, improve community outcomes, and build long-term impact.

Responsibilities:

Research and identify grant opportunities from Philippine government agencies (e.g., DOH, DSWD), local foundations, NGOs, and international funding bodies

Develop and write high-quality grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents

Create and manage a grant calendar to track deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements

Collaborate with internal teams to gather program data, impact stories, and operational details

Maintain accurate records of grant applications, funding status, and compliance requirements

Build and maintain relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders

Prepare grant reports and impact updates for donors

Ensure all submissions align with Hey Dan’s mission, programs, and strategic priorities

Stay updated on funding trends in the Philippines, particularly in nonprofit, community development, and digital initiatives

Support monitoring and evaluation efforts to strengthen funding proposals

Assist in developing fundraising materials (decks, concept notes, donor briefs)

Goal: To generate an average of 250,000 php in grant funding per month

Skills & Experience:

At least 3–5 years of successful experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development

Preferred, but not required: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field

Proven success in securing grants totalling over 750,000 php in one calendar year

Strong writing, editing, and research skills with attention to detail

Familiarity with the Philippine nonprofit and funding landscape

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Strong communication skills

Ability to translate program data into compelling, donor-friendly narratives

Experience with grant tracking tools or CRM systems is a plus
