Job Title: Tax Manager (Extensive US Tax Code Knowledge REQUIRED)

Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Tax Manager to lead tax planning, tax preparation oversight, and client advisory services for business owners and high-income individuals. This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, client-facing, and passionate about helping clients make smarter financial decisions year-round, not just at tax time.

The Tax Manager will be responsible for managing client relationships, reviewing tax returns, identifying tax-saving opportunities, and helping ensure a high level of service across the firm. The ideal candidate is organized, strategic, and able to communicate tax concepts clearly and confidently.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of business and individual tax clients
- Review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, and corporations
- Lead proactive tax planning engagements and identify strategies to reduce client tax liability
- Meet with clients to discuss tax projections, planning opportunities, and financial decisions
- Provide guidance on entity structure, reasonable compensation, retirement planning, deductions, and other strategic tax matters
- Serve as a trusted advisor and main point of contact for assigned clients
- Collaborate with bookkeeping, payroll, and administrative tea ---------- mbers to ensure accurate and timely deliverables
- Monitor tax law changes and communicate relevant updates to clients and internal tea ---------- mbers
- Assist in improving internal processes, workflows, and client experience
- Train, mentor, and support junior staff as needed
- Help manage deadlines during tax season and throughout the year

Qualifications
- CPA license required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Master’s in Accounting or Taxation preferred
- 5+ years of public accounting or relevant tax experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of individual, business, and entity taxation
- Experience with tax planning and advisory work, not just tax preparation
- Ability to review returns efficiently and accurately
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable meeting directly with clients and explaining tax matters in plain English
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
- Experience with tax software, bookkeeping platforms, and practice management systems preferred
