Accounting VA | E-commerce Bookkeeper

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented bookkeeper to help us set up QuickBooks Online, integrate it with our ecommerce store, and transition from our current bookkeeping system. This is a project-based role with the potential to grow into ongoing part-time or full-time support depending on fit and performance.

What You'll Be Doing

Set up and configure our QuickBooks Online account (chart of accounts, tax settings, payment methods, preferences)
Connect and integrate our ecommerce platform(s) with QuickBooks Online for automated transaction syncing
Map products, fees, refunds, and sales tax correctly between platforms
Migrate historical data and opening balances from our current system into QBO
Reconcile accounts and ensure books are clean and accurate post-migration
Document processes and provide a handoff/training so we can manage ongoing bookkeeping going forward
Flag any discrepancies or issues discovered during setup


What We're Looking For
Required:

Proven experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) — not Desktop
Experience integrating ecommerce platforms with QBO (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon, Etsy, or similar)
Familiarity with tools like A2X, Synder, or similar ecommerce accounting connectors
Strong understanding of chart of accounts, bank reconciliation, and accrual/cash-basis accounting
Excellent attention to detail and organized workflow
Clear, professional English communication (written)

Nice to Have:

QuickBooks Online certification or ProAdvisor status
Experience with ecommerce sales tax (e.g., Avalara, TaxJar)
Prior experience migrating from [current software, e.g., Wave / Xero / QuickBooks Desktop / spreadsheets]
Experience working with US-based small businesses or ecommerce sellers
