Sports Card Acquisition & Resale Assistant (eBay / Online Marketplaces / Whatnot)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and market-savvy assistant to support the acquisition, organization, and resale of sports cards across online platforms. This role is focused on identifying undervalued cards, executing purchases on marketplaces such as eBay and other online sources, maintaining organized inventory records, and assisting with live sales on platforms like Whatnot. Full time or Part Time.

This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, familiarity with sports cards (modern and/or vintage), and the ability to operate efficiently in a fast-moving online marketplace environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Card Sourcing & Purchasing

Monitor eBay, auction sites, forums, and other online marketplaces for underpriced or high-value sports cards
Identify arbitrage opportunities (buying below market value with resale potential)
Execute purchases quickly and efficiently when deals arise
Track ongoing auctions and manage bidding strategies

2. Market Research & Pricing Analysis

Analyze recent sales data (comps) using platforms such as eBay sold listings, 130point, etc.
Evaluate trends in player performance, card demand, grading impact, and market timing
Recommend purchasing decisions based on ROI potential

3. Inventory Management & Organization

Maintain detailed spreadsheets tracking:
Purchase price
Market value
Card details (player, set, condition, grading status)
Location/status of inventory
Ensure accurate and up-to-date recordkeeping
Assist in categorizing and organizing inventory for resale

4. Sales Support (Whatnot & Other Platforms)

Assist in preparing listings and inventory for live shows on Whatnot
Help price cards strategically for live sales
Support live stream operations (optional but preferred)
Provide input on bundling, promotions, and sales strategies

5. General Operational Support

Communicate deal opportunities quickly and clearly
Maintain awareness of market shifts and emerging opportunities
Assist with scaling buying/selling processes over time
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong familiarity with sports cards (basketball, football, baseball, etc.)
Experience using eBay and online marketplaces (buying and/or selling)
Ability to identify value discrepancies and “deals”
Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)
High attention to detail and organizational discipline
Quick decision-making and responsiveness (timing is critical in auctions)
Basic understanding of card grading (PSA, BGS, SGC) and its impact on value
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience flipping sports cards or similar collectibles
Familiarity with Whatnot or live selling platforms
Experience using pricing/data tools (e.g., 130point, Card Ladder, Market Movers)
Knowledge of trends in sports and player performance
Comfort working in a fast-paced, opportunistic buying environment
