JOB OVERVIEW

About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-driven Remote Accounting Assistant to support a growing accounting function within a fast-paced interior design and construction firm.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Accounting Lead, helping manage essential day-to-day financial tasks—freeing them up to focus on higher-level strategy, systems, and process improvements.

This is a part-time, fully remote position with strong potential to grow as the business evolves.

What You’ll Be Doing

Accounts Receivable (AR)

- Assist with billing, proposals, and invoice generation (House Pro, QuickBooks)
- Track incoming payments and follow up on outstanding invoices
- Maintain accurate AR records and assist with reconciliations

Accounts Payable (AP)

- Process and code vendor invoices
- Support AP tracking, documentation, and reconciliations
- Monitor payment timelines and status updates

Accounting & Operations Support

- Assist in full-cycle accounting tasks under supervision
- Maintain and update spreadsheets, trackers, and financial records
-Organize documents across systems (House Pro, QuickBooks, internal tools)

Process Documentation

- Create and maintain SOPs for recurring workflows
- Turn training sessions into clear, step-by-step documentation

Communication & Coordination

- Provide updates via Slack, email, and Zoom
- Flag issues, track progress, and collaborate on priorities
- Participate in regular check-ins to ensure accuracy and alignment

What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)

- Solid experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or bookkeeping
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)
- Excellent written English communication skills
- Ability to multitask and handle shifting priorities
- Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple trackers and systems
- Reliable, proactive, and responsive in a remote work environment

Nice to Have (Bonus Points)

- Experience with House Pro or similar tools
- Background in construction, interior design, or project-based businesses
- Experience creating SOPs or process documentation
- Strong client-facing communication skills
- Comfortable learning new tools and navigating system transitions
