ABOUT US
FSW Group (F.S. Welsford Co.) is a third-generation, family-owned valve and instrumentation distributor headquartered in Exton, PA. Operating under brands including ValveMan and AVCO (Alloy Valves & Controls), we serve OEM manufacturers, end users, and industrial accounts across the mid-Atlantic and Eastern United States. Our team includes inside sales, outside territory managers, and warehouse operations staff. We are growing, investing in technology, and building internal capabilities that give us a durable competitive edge.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a skilled, AI-native developer to build and deploy a suite of internal productivity and sales-enablement tools for the FSW Group team. This is a hands-on, execution-oriented role. You will work directly with our Executive Assistant to the CEO to scope, build, document, and deliver working tools that our team can operate and maintain.
This position is project-based to start. Contractors who deliver exceptional results, communicate clearly, and build tools our team actually uses will be considered for longer-term, ongoing engagement. We are not looking for consultants who write specs—we need builders who ship.
WHAT YOU'LL BUILD
Valve Spec Mapping Tool
A web-based or internal app where a user enters simple application
requirements (media, pressure, temperature, size, end connection,
actuation) and the tool returns matched valve products from our existing
vendor catalog, along with the correct vendor point of contact to reach out to
for quote or availability. Must be maintainable and updateable as our vendor roster changes.
Credit Report Analyzer
A tool that accepts an uploaded Experian Business Credit Report (PDF) and
a requested credit amount, then produces clean, structured guidance on
whether to extend credit, at what terms, and key risk flags to consider.
Output should be readable by non-finance staff.
Company Website Rebuild
Design and deploy a clean, professional website for the FSW Group /
Welsford family of companies. Simple architecture, mobile-responsive, easy
for internal staff to update. Full deployment required—not a mockup.
Email
A tool that connects to our company
and outbound
handle authentication securely and be deployable within our existing tech
environment.
Additional Tools (TBD)
Additional tools will be scoped based on business need as the engagement
progresses. Examples may include vendor scorecard dashboards, customer
lookup integrations, quote generation aids, and internal knowledge base
tools.
DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS (REQUIRED FOR EVERY TOOL)
Every tool delivered must include the following documentation, written for a non-developer audience:
- A simple, plain-language SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) explaining how the tool works and how to use it
-A troubleshooting guide covering the most likely errors, what causes them, and how to resolve them—including how to prompt an AI assistant (like Claude or ChatGPT) to diagnose and fix issues
- Redeployment instructions: step-by-step guidance on how to redeploy or restart the tool if it goes down, is moved, or needs to be updated
- Dependency and environment documentation: what the tool runs on, what accounts or credentials it needs, and where those are stored
Documentation must be delivered alongside the working tool—not as an afterthought.
IP & OWNERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
This is non-negotiable: all work product produced under this engagement—including all code, scripts, configurations, documentation, and derivative works—is the sole intellectual property of F.S. Welsford Co. / FSW Group. You will be required to sign a work-for-hire / IP assignment agreement prior to beginning any
project.
- No subscriptions may be used without prior approval
- No proprietary frameworks that create lock-in to a vendor without our explicit consent
- All credentials,
