Senior Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with strong knowledge of Australian tax compliance and Xero to join our remote team full-time. You will manage bookkeeping, financial reporting, BAS, and tax return preparation for Australian clients.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and lodge BAS and Australian tax returns (individuals, companies, or trusts)
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Manage full bookkeeping in Xero (reconciliations, journals, payroll entries if required)
• Ensure compliance with ATO requirements and Australian accounting standards
• Support month-end and year-end reporting processes

Requirements
• 5+ years accounting experience (Australian accounting experience preferred)
• Strong experience with Australian tax (BAS, GST, income tax returns)
• Advanced proficiency in Xero
• Solid understanding of Australian accounting standards
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Good written and spoken English

• CPA/CA qualified or equivalent
• Experience with Australian accounting firms or SMEs
• Familiarity with tools like Dext or Hubdoc
