We're a UK-based custom vehicle signage company producing precision-cut magnetic signs for tradespeople and small businesses. We're looking for a detail-oriented graphic designer to join our team and take ownership of the design process from brief to print-ready file.
The Role
You'll be turning small business owners branding & logos into professional, eye-catching vehicle signs. That means taking a client's logo, photos, and brand colours and composing layouts that look sharp on the side or rear of a van — all while working within exact print and cut specifications.
You'll manage multiple jobs at a time, handle client feedback rounds, and ensure every file that goes to production is technically flawless. You will have support from the customer support team to handle the revisions but you will be handling the
What You'll Be Doing
Receiving customer assets (logos, photos, brand guidelines) and composing vehicle sign layouts to specific panel dimensions for each vehicle make and model
Setting up print-ready files with correct bleed lines, safe zones, and cut paths — ensuring no text or key design elements are clipped at the edges
Reviewing client-supplied images for quality — flagging low-resolution, blurry, or unsuitable photos and requesting replacements before progressing the design
Presenting design proofs to clients, taking on board their feedback, and revising efficiently until sign-off
Troubleshooting file issues: downloading assets from various sources, converting between formats, repairing or recreating corrupted files, and ensuring everything is production-ready
Applying creative judgment to make each sign visually compelling — strong use of hierarchy, colour, spacing, and composition so the finished product stands out on the road
What We're Looking For
Strong working proficiency in Adobe Illustrator (this is your primary tool — you need to be comfortable with vector work, clipping masks, pathfinder operations, artboard management, and export settings)
Experience designing for large-format print — you understand DPI requirements, colour modes (CMYK), bleed, trim, and safe area setup
A sharp eye for image quality — you can spot a stretched, pixelated, or compression-damaged photo immediately
Comfortable working to precise dimensional constraints — every sign must match a specific vehicle panel size down to the millimetre
Good client communication skills — you can interpret vague feedback, ask the right clarifying questions, and manage revision rounds without frustration
Solid general file management and troubleshooting ability — you're the person who fixes the problem, not the person who reports it and waits
A portfolio or examples showing layout work, signage, or branded visual design (vehicle wraps, banners, shop signage, or similar are a strong plus)
Nice to Have
Experience with vehicle wraps or vehicle signage specifically
Familiarity with RIP software or print workflow tools
Experience with CMYK colours and matching these correctly
Experience working with contour cut lines / cut paths for flatbed or vinyl cutters
Basic Adobe Photoshop skills for image correction and enhancement
