JOB OVERVIEW

Technical Operations Specialist — The Kiln (A 2X Company)
About The Kiln
The Kiln is a GTM engineering agency built by a team of automation experts, data scientists, and early Clay employees. We design custom, AI-powered inbound, outbound, marketing, and RevOps systems for the world's leading growth teams. Our clients include companies like Windsurf, Browserbase, Sendoso, Loxo, and many more. We turn messy data into high-intent pipeline and help teams sell smarter, not harder. Recently acquired by 2X, we're scaling fast and looking for sharp, technical people to grow with us.
The Role
As a Technical Operations Specialist, you will sit at the intersection of data, automation, and marketing operations. This is not a passive analytics role — you will be building, maintaining, and optimizing the automated systems that power our clients' go-to-market motions. You'll work directly with our GTM engineers and client teams to ensure data flows cleanly, automations run reliably, and insights are actionable. If you're someone who gets excited about connecting systems, cleaning messy datasets, and watching a well-built workflow fire off perfectly — this role is for you.
What You'll Do

Build, monitor, and optimize marketing automation workflows using tools like n8n, Clay, and similar platforms to support client campaigns and internal operations.
Analyze and transform raw data into structured, enriched datasets that feed directly into outbound and inbound sales systems.
Collaborate with GTM engineers to design and implement data pipelines, lead scoring models, and enrichment workflows inside Clay tables.
Troubleshoot and debug automation failures, API integrations, and data sync issues across multiple platforms (CRMs, email tools, enrichment providers).
Create and maintain dashboards and reports that give clients and internal teams visibility into campaign performance, pipeline health, and automation output.
Document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for recurring workflows so that processes are repeatable, scalable, and easy to hand off.
Stay current on new tools, integrations, and best practices in the GTM engineering and marketing automation space, and proactively recommend improvements.

What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Data Analyst, Marketing Operations Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or a similar data-centric role is required. You should have hands-on experience with at least one marketing automation or workflow automation platform such as n8n, Clay, Zapier, Make (Integromat), or similar tools. Strong proficiency in data analysis is essential — you should be comfortable working with spreadsheets, SQL, or BI tools to extract, clean, and interpret data. Familiarity with CRM platforms like HubSpot or Salesforce, and a solid understanding of APIs, webhooks, and how automated systems communicate with each other, are important. When applying for this position, please use the subject line TechOps-Kiln-2026 | [Your Full Name] so we can properly route your application. Excellent attention to detail is a must — you catch the data discrepancy before it becomes a client problem.
Nice to Have

Experience with Clay specifically — building tables, enrichment workflows, and outbound data pipelines.
Familiarity with outbound sales tooling (Instantly, Smartlead, Lemlist, or similar sequencing platforms).
Basic scripting or coding ability (Python, JavaScript, or Google Apps Script) for custom integrations or data transformations.
Experience in a B2B SaaS, agency, or fast-paced startup environment.
Exposure to data enrichment tools like LeadMagic, Apollo, ZoomInfo, or Clearbit.

Why Join The Kiln

Work at the cutting edge of GTM engineering alongside some of the most experienced Clay operators and automation builders in the industry.
Be part of a lean, high-impact team where your contributions are visible, valued, and directly tied to client outcomes.
Access to best-in-class tools and a culture that encourages experimentation, continuous learning, and creative problem-solving.
Grow your career in one of the fastest-evolving spaces in B2B — GTM automation and AI-powered sales infrastructure.
Backed by 2X, giving you the stability of a larger organization with the speed and energy of an agency.
