JOB OVERVIEW

Who You Are
You program survey instruments, manage the field, clean the data, coordinate with vendors, and keep projects moving on schedule. You've done this work hands-on at a research firm (not in an academic setting), and you're comfortable owning the technical execution of multiple projects at once.

You may be a fit if:
* You have programmed surveys in Alchemer, Qualtrics, or a comparable professional survey platform - and can set up skip logic, quotas, randomization, piping, and multilanguage surveys without hand-holding
* You've managed survey fielding from launch through close: monitoring quotas, tracking sample quality, and keeping projects on timeline
* You've coordinated with external vendors - panel providers, call centers, mail houses - and can manage those relationships independently
* You have experience with sample preparation: lists manipulation, deduplication, creating clean sample files, generating unique identifiers
* You are meticulous about data quality - you catch errors before they reach anyone else
* You take initiative, ask questions when something is unclear, and don't wait to be told what to do next
* You're comfortable jumping between multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
* You are proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
* You can create basic graphics using AI, Canva, or Adobe tools

What you'll do:
* Program and test online surveys in our survey platform, including email and texting campaigns, logic testing, and distribution setup
* Monitor and manage survey fielding: track quotas, sample quality, response rates, and project timelines
* Coordinate with external vendors - online panel providers, call centers, and mail vendors - and provide regular updates to internal project managers
* Prepare and clean sample files: create organized sample files, generate unique data fields
* Develop mail materials and coordinate with internal team and external mail vendors
* Perform data cleaning on survey outputs to verify data quality and integrity
* Code and analyze open-ended responses
* QC all deliverables: cross-check data sets, verify formatting, catch errors before client delivery
* Build charts, reporting visuals, and basic dashboards in PowerPoint, Canva, or Looker Studio
* Support the research team across the full project lifecycle

What we're NOT looking for:
Someone whose survey experience is limited to academic research or distributing simple online links

Required qualifications:
* At least one year of experience programming and fielding surveys in a professional opinion or market research setting
* Proficiency in online survey programming with a survey platform (tell us which ones you know well)
* Experience managing fielding for market research or public opinion research studies
* Experience with data cleaning and response monitoring
* Strong English writing, proofreading, and communication skills
* Bachelor's degree in marketing, political science, communication, business administration, or a related field

Preferred:
* Experience with SPSS, R, Wincross, or similar statistical/tabulation software
